Jewelann, that sounds nice, and I'm sure something that some people here may want to take advantage of. In a case like that, the first thing I'd want to check out would be what kind of neighbors are there.
PS, Is this their website? http://www.lakeshoreseniorsrvresort.com/
Thanks for posting. :)

My little trailer would not work for me just parked long term. If I am mobile and travelling then it's good and the perfect size for me and my truck.

Perhaps, when you get the trailer fixed, you could trade it in for something bigger that WOULD work for long term living, thus recouping some of the money you've invested in it.  It sounds like you could save enough at that park Jewellann posted that in less than a year, you could also afford a van or something that WOULD work for travel.  Just a thought.

Good thought. If Rob can drive that truck across country with trailer in tow for half his cross country trek, a van would be a cake walk.

At this point I am not sure what to do. Keep it and travel occasionally or give it to someone who actually needs it. Today I feel great, like I could handle the setting up other days sleep is my main priority.

I don't want to sound whiney, just indecisive right now..

Yes That's their site.  Thanks for finding it, I just can't figure out how to post links.   That area is one I really like.  Family has had property there since the 1960s.  There is a huge Flea Mkt. there plus Canton TX trade days and Traders Village in the Grand Prarie/Arlinton area.  I lived in the Dallas area from birth to 2005 except twice when I bought homes in SD and relocated there.  I've lost nothing in cities or large towns however the rural and older lake areas I really like no matter what state they are in.

I get this perfectly
my 20 foot trailer works wonderfully for me, stationary, and I bought it, instead of a cargo, because I knew i would be stationary for a while, but a 6x10 cargo would have been my choice for travel, or a van, full size or mini
Now I'm staring the need to be able to at least occasionally pull my TT in the eye, and it limits my choices

Gunny, his name is Bobby Howard.  Howard's RV, 580-795-5601.  He's located on Highway 70 between Kingston and Madill, Oklahoma. The offer stands.  If you need help getting your camper somewhere, I will help you.

I called him and had a lengthy conversation with him. He's a very plain spoken man and I was impressed. Sent him pictures of the damaged corner and he said it would not be too much money to repair and he thought he had some metal left over from another job he could use. I was impressed with the way he spoke.

This is great news, Rob.  Thanks for the update.  I'm glad you liked him.  I take it he'll be doing your work?

Yes, I am going to have to wait a couple of weeks until the retirement check comes then run it up there. Thanks again, Carol.

I think I have worked out a solution. I talked to a couple of members who I thought may be interested in the trailer and they are already situated in a vehicle of some sort, don't need mine.

The service man that Mizmozy recommended is very reasonable, I will get the roof resealed and rubberized for 2 hundred and the ding for about the same. It may not look factory but it will be solid. He is also going to give it a once over to check what I may have missed, at no charge I might add.

At some point I will find a person who needs a trailer and doesn't mind waiting a bit. I can still do trips and make some gatherings and when I can't I will know who to call. I will also make a small addendum to my will to make it legal. My executor (sounds like I have a lot of money doesn't it?) is a retired US Marshall I served with in Vietnam and he is perhaps the most thorough human being I know, so it will be handled.

All this is a work in progress and I will update as the weeks go by.

Raining and cool here so it is a Vicodin day. Change in weather seems to bring about change in my mobility.

I hope everyone's day is outstanding! Rob

It sounds like you're feeling more positive today. GOOD!

A while back, I read something -- most of which I forgot -- but the author said something about DESPAIR being the big bogeyman. It drapes over you like a big, heavy blanket, and prevents you from doing anything. And I think that's right, because I was getting there, too. And then I accidentally ran across Bob's website, and it was like he lifted the corner of that blanket so I could see some light. I'm still scared, but now I have some direction, and am moving in that direction. Maybe I'm not moving as fast as I could, but I am moving.

And always remember the really important fact: Your small furperson needs you.

At 7:30 AM this morning my cell went off with what I thought was an 'Amber Alert' I wasn't driving, so I went bac to sleep
at 8, my regular alarm went off, and checking the 'Amber Alert' I discovered it had been a weather warning, in fact, a Tornado warning and seek shelter alert
I didn't seem to be airborn, I didn't hear any trains, and the warning was a 1/2 hour old, so I didn't sweat it

Glad you're feeling more positive, Rob, if i make it up there this weekend, maybe we can figure some workarounds for the tank situation

He is getting a Tank as a dwelling vehicle?  Cool!

On some of the Govt auction sites there is everything but tanks, must be a special site or those.

Rob

Yeah, I've seem Hummers, MRAPS, duecenhalfs, etc of truckplanet, but no tanks, lol

And Only $79,000, I'm on my way right now to pick it, up, heck, that's pocket change for me  :p
