NON drivers & RV living tips

I wanted to start a thread for  Rvers who CAN'T/ no DMV licences but  want a RV living. Any advice/feedback for us  1ndnvr started  the question in 2014, i think  and I want to continue to find other people in our position.


Question:

I'm going to add to this  question live AND travel

Should NON driver buy a class A ,B or C  and hire a person to drive class A,B or C or invest in travel trailer or 5 th wheel instead.

How  does a person move a 5th wheel or TT if he or she can't drive period? How to find a tow driver?

Is it expensive hiring a RV driver  or  find a  person to tow your TT or 5th wheeler?

Can you get insurance on an RV/trailer/5th wheel if you don't have a driving license?

Are you looking to live in an RV that pretty much stays in one location most of the time, like an RV park or are you wanting to explore the country and move around often?
Because I would think it'd be fairly simple to find someone on Craigslist (or similar) to move it once or twice, but if you're looking for a driver that would move you around every few weeks, that might be more complicated?

We have known people in the past that stayed in one place either seasonally or while doing contract work for a couple of years at one place that had someone else move their trailer. These people simply could not see investing in a heavy duty tow vehicle to move so infrequently.

I have no idea what it may cost but someone reliable may be $1.00 or more a mile.

More info on the purpose of doing this and the distances involved even more specifics about location in general.

A trailer should be cheaper than a motorhome that works. I have seen ads on Craigslist offering to move trailers. Make sure that they have business insurance.

You can get an idea of cost and find RV transporters on U Ship. As someone said earlier, make sure they're carrying a commercial license to transport RVs for a fee

If this is a non-motorized unit, i.e. travel trailer or fifth wheel, and it is installed in a trailer park or on it's own legal lot, it is essentially a mobile home, and should be insurable as such.
Local moving can likely be done thru a local RV dealer or service shop.

My dream was to drive around the USA in a RV but i'm visually impaired now. People tell me don't give up my travel dream and I should just hire a driver to drive a class A or tow a 5th wheeler..

The reason why i started this thread because i found out I wasn't the only with this dream. Some people never learn how to drive but he or she wants to enjoy the RV lifestyle I want to find more NON drivers and I hope this thread helps .For me, I want to travel around the USA and then settle down in California(homebase). I think 1ndnvr doesn't want to travel but live in a RV in his city. Bottom line NON driver needs drivers to help us out.

I actually have a friend that would be very interested in doing something like this. She's also a CNA and HHA. She's hoping to be able to use her certifications also (in other words earn some money)
