Nissan NV2500 High Roof Van

I'm weighing all of my options, leaning towards possibly getting a 13" scamp TT BUT I have always thought about building up a Nissan NV 2500 High roof van. I'm 6'1" and height of the high roof at 6'3" is perfect for me. The 2500 V6 gets averages about 15-18 mpg from what I have read. Has anyone done a build on a NV2500 High Roof? if so, does it make a great live-in van? I love the reliability of Nissans. I had considered a Chevy Express van but I hear they are terrible with rust here up north, however, I'm sure regular washing in the winter would help prevent corrosion. I've seen clean used nv 2500 high roof vans for $15-20k. There was a 2013 for sale around here for $15k with 50k miles.

Hi. I got this van a couple of months ago... sorry that I could not review but it's tooo early for giving you any review. What I have done so far is remove the mat that it has, since I believe it holds humidity.

I'm also six ft high and got it for the same reasons!!!. It's roomy inside, I'm thinking of building a mother's attic on it !!

Also, it has some extra storage on the left side under the floor, and on that same side in the very rear, it has already a hole with a filter that I think we can use for good ventilation and air circulation.

Sure I sorry for my late response.

I was a bit "desperate" when I got it so I didn't reviewed it, it came with some rust issues on the roof , and a crash in the bumper which was 1200 to repair.

I paid for it 18k... the v6 engine is powerful but the transmission is not taking full advantage of it so I have to overdrive a lot on hilly roads.

It's been a long while since I don't check mileage but I recall doing low teens on city, empty and with high roof.

Haven't took it to highway yet .

I looked at the Nissan, the Ford Transit, and the Mercedes. I got the Mercedes for the mileage, I get about 27 mpg driving 62 and about 24 driving 70. I figured out the difference between 18 mpg vs 25 mpg over 200,000 miles with fuel being $4.00 / gallon is over $12,000. The Nissan is nice though.

Bruce, the last two years leading up to the van I just bought were all planed and dreamed on the Sprinter. Beautiful cavernous van, unfortunately I started reading reviews on the Mercedes reliability and got turned off on buying one. Hope yours is trouble free[emoji3][emoji106]

You and me both brother! The only negatives I've seen about them is that they rust. Which they do, but it's a commercial van, not a luxury car. My other one still runs great at 400,000 miles, and if this one does the same, I'll be happy. That would give me 25k miles per year until I'm 83. Good luck with yours. Being Japanese I'm sure it will be good.

So far except for normal maintenance it's been trouble free 
Question is will it make 1 million miles
