Good evening. I'm exploring the possibility of traveling the US with a small trailer -- teardrop, popup, etc -- augmented with a strong tent that I can stand up in, all pulled by a sedan. I am currently hung up on the sedan. I have checked out several websites and some forums, but I remain confused as to what is actually required. Lots of opinions out there. I'm going to search in the Cheaprvliving forum again, and probably ask some questions.

Thanks, OpenMinds. Good to know. I am drawn to the teardrops, for sure. I'm still researching towing vehicles, and will come back when I can better formulate my questions.

What open Mind said x 2 referring to pop ups. No experience with teardrops.
Welcome
Dragonfly

there is a teardrop forum lost of good information

http://www.tnttt.com/

look at the towing capacity of your vehicle. many tend to go for subura, but you might get away with smaller.

Really like your idea.
1) Teardrop
2) Stand Up Tent (take showers, use bathroom, cook)
3) just rent a cabin-couch surf, -etc

set the teardrop up with an AC unit somehow for those roasting nights

But why would you not just get a van? worried about MPG? or worried about fitting into parking area?
