Yeah, so I am sick of wasting money down what seems to me to a black hole - rent. Rent allows me to have a roof over my head. But why? I can see so much more happening with my money.
My lease is about to be up in July. I refuse to sign another lease. So I got to searching for a box truck. I can totally see myself pouring money into a box truck and making it work. Everything would be mine, and I would not be pouring money down a black hole! Hooray!
As I read these forums, I am reminded of my childhood, and long road trips. I used to dream about converting a van, down to the secondary battery banks (mind you I had never seen any such thing). I dreamt of portable tvs and computers, a bunk bed. That's pretty much where my dreaming stopped, but now I am continuing and building on the dream.
Independence. That is what it is all about, right? It is for me. And I am a selfish miser when it comes to my money (think of old bearded woman in the mountains with a money stuffed mattress and money packed behind the picture frames). I give my last dollar to someone who is hungry, but second guess paying for something I did not desire in the first place. So putting my money into a tiny home sounds perfect for me.
I am unmarried. Divorced, actually. I work for a global technology company repairing robots. My job is very independent, and I work in a man only field.(which is why I refuse to learn about electricity - so when I ask questions about electricity I am asking for instructions and how tos - not the why's and wherefores.
This is long, but you understand why I have chosen this lifestyle.
