Thanks Jdub and Rav&x. Here’s a bird that I’ve wanted to shoot for many years. I got one last year but I got a better picture this year. The male painted bunting.

Hello 2TU808. Yes I’m in Florida I’m south of you in Pine craft which is a little division of the city of Sarasota. I’ve been around taking nature pictures mainly birds for the last few weeks and I plan to be here through May so I can see the spring wildflowers then it’s back up north where the weathers reasonable and “hurricanes hardly ever happen”. I do want to come up towards Tampa because of the manatees that are up in the water at the electric plant. They’re pretty smart animals looking for the warm water. God bless the nomads each and everyone of them.

hello nature lover~
i have not yet been to sarasota but have heard that it is a beautiful place. i've pretty much been discovering the central and coastal northwest areas of tampa. i am amazed by the amount of wildlife in florida and am graced with their appearances early mornings during my bike rides (well, any time of day really, but more in the morning when people are not yet out and about). i've not been to pennsylvania, but any place that is warmer and does not snow at this time of the year seems very reasonable. for me, warmth and sunshine for most of the year is necessary to good health. i would love to see the manatees, too. i was in dunedin and the locals told me that each year manatees come to the marina. i'd love to see that.

Hello again fellow nomads. I’m not real computer savvy. I’m old enough to think that they should stop changing it so I don’t have to keep up with it. But I need someone, if you’re out there, who understands google groups. Please PM me if you’d like to spend a few minutes working with me on this project. I’m part way they’re there but I need some advice.

here’s another picture I took recently of a great egret with a small snake.

God bless the nomads each and everyone, we sure do need it. And by the way God if you can do something about the gas prices we’d appreciate it.

I saw this rig at a Cracker Barrel parking lot today. I didn’t get to talk to the people. It is my policy not to knock on doors but if somebody’s out and about I’ll approach and have a conversation. If this was the builder in the rig today it would’ve been an interesting conversation.

Whooooaaaa!
That's a crazy rig.
It's a little heavy at the back, based on the roofline.

You should post that in the "Seen on the Road" thread/board.

Isn't that the same one we've seen posted here a couple of times? I've wondered how they avoid dragging the tail (I think it's a porch) on that thing. Looks like a freeway blocking national news making incident about to happen IMO...

Hows the food?

Cheers!

Big AMEN on those gas prices. The price at the local pumps climbed 15c per overnight! I've read we're going to be looking at ~ $4.00 a gallon by summer. YOWZA!

Someone suggested I put this picture (see post 66) in a section called “seen on the road”. I went and looked and that vehicle was photographed in 2018 in Minnesota and also last year in Fort Myers Florida only about 100 miles south of me now. So they do get around I’d love to talk to them. Maybe I should’ve left them a note.

Hey NL. Any change yet? Keep the pix coming, they're really great shots!

Cheers!

By change do you mean am I leaving Sarasota area yet? That answer is no not until 1 March because I didn’t budget my money properly and I’m going to be very very tight for the next two weeks. Might be good for me I might find a lose some weight. So I’m sticking close to Pine craft and my Amish friends and birdwatching locally. Tonight’s Walmart again “The Nomads Ritz”.

Looks like another night at the Ritz Carlton (Walmart). There is a pair of yellow headed blackbirds in our area. They are generally western bird but some of them must’ve strayed. I only got pictures of the female and not the best pictures but I am putting two in here. One is a picture of her side she has yellow on her throat and up to her chin. The other is a shot of her from behind with the telltale yellow butt ring. It looks like she’s squirting mustard. I’ve taught nature to children for years and know that they will love seeing this. Hey any way at all to get them interested I’ll do it. When I had the nature center the children’s favorite pictures where are the Eagles pooping. God bless the nomads “no madder“ where they roam. I’m also adding a picture of a vehicle that I might trade my van in for. But I’m not sure that I can climb up into it or that my big a** will fit in it. But it looks like a fun vehicle.8069CF89-0637-4031-9CB4-AAF952DF87AA.jpegA63345EC-9380-4072-AB0B-DFFC64572843.jpegC5880D4F-459C-4AC6-969C-5BC8B3A81F66.jpeg

Great photos NL! You can really zoom in with that lens. That VW looks like just what you'd want if you ever have to break out of a nursing home again!

Stay safe!

Just busy doing a bit of work the last few days here in AZ at the Van Aid event near Quartzsite. NctryBen had his tablesaw out so I cut the parts for the drawers in my cabinets. Got them assembled today. Tommorow brings a 40 mph or higher gust prediction so I wont be trying to varnish them just yet as blowing dust would get embedded in the wet finish. That is OK as instead of painting I can start on installing the drawer slide brackets inside the trailer.

Another day in sunny Sarasota. It’s really warmed up down here. It feels good. Last two days were all spent birding. right now I’m in Pine craft watching the shuffle board Games. Here here’s a picture I got yesterday at the celery fields I got a lot more than that one But I won’t bore you all God bless the nomads where ever they roam. 0487CD9A-7F11-4674-B7D5-F70F642BF976.jpeg

"Sunny Sarasota" has a nice ring to it. You might see that on a welcome sign at the city limits?

Thanks for the pics NL and I'm glad you're in some warm weather!

What kind of bird is that? Very interesting look there.

slow2day - I should label them somehow I have to learn more about how to do that. That is the male wood duck. I’m attaching here a male blue wing teal. Of course the good Lord made the male or the species prettier than the female. Which my wife would always said yes but he didn’t give brains with beauty. EE694EBF-A0C3-4715-BDB5-CC4EB7EFC9E7.jpeg

More nice pics N.L. Those teals are good eating too as well as pretty. Uhhhhh, I meant to say... How about them Braves?!!!

Cheers!
