Congrats! I've always liked how they looked. I like the more boxy looking vehicles as a rule. Going to need some pics once you do your mods.

Sounds great!
I would seriously consider pulling any seats you aren't going to use all the time. Also striping the interior in your living space and reinsulating/giving it thinner dimensions.

Maximize space.

Congrats. I rented one , they are nice. Good mpg. Smooth ride. Fairly spacious.
Find some mosquito netting for a window or two.
Looking forward to some progress pics.

If your looking for a daily driver that you can sleep in, take a serious look at a Prius. I currently live in a 2007 Prius in a major city while working a full time job. Rear seats fold down flat, and my front seats fold down completely flat, like 8 feet of space (slide front seat completely forward, remove the headrest of front seat, and fold seat completely back to the rear (not to front)), Are you giant? Get a Prius.

Congratulations on finding your Flex! I just wanted to add for anyone else following the thread that I have a 2000 Ford Expedition and bought it because the second row seats fold flat and I can use the back for sleeping.

I am kinda afraid of a van that old, not too mechanical so i prefer a 2000 or newer.

I actually really like the astro vans but most of the ones i saw were kinda junky and old with tons of issues... the people in our area sell the good ones 2002 - 2005 with low miles for WAY over blue book... $7000 for a 2005 astro van with 120000 miles? No thanks. Seattle cars are almost all 20% over blue book or higher... it's a messed up market.

I have seen and driven a total of about 18 used vehicles. The only one i wanted to buy i was short a few hundred bucks and the guy wouldn't budge, by the time i had the money he sold it. That was a dodge ram van 2001 conversion with super low miles in really awesome shape... i missed the boat on that one!! It was sweet!

I loved the Chevy Tahoe i drove but the tape measure killed them for me... Seats designed so strange and taking the seats out would work i guess but that seems like a hassle. Really cool vehicle tho!
I don't always need extra passengers but would prefer to have the option of them at times. The Suburbans are super cool but in the city parking would be a logistical nightmare. Plus they are really pricey!

Still need to look at the Dodge Durango's, and the Nissan Armada... maybe they could work?

Seems like every weekend i am testing a few rigs looking for the one, it's been 5 months now!

I will find it, i guess the old fall back is a mini van but dang they are ugly.

Thanks so much to all of you who have suggestions! You guys and gals rock!  :D

SHELK your search is similar to mine. I have been looking for over a year. I am not handy so I think I am going to get something new (or fairly new) and I will drive it forever (I currently have a 1998 Accord). I also wanted something cheap to maintain, good gas mlg etc.

The best choices I found were the Astro Van, Honda CRV 2017 (2017 is larger w higher clearance) and the Toyota Highlander. I am pretty sure it will be the Honda CRV. Remember you can add headspace by putting a cooler and pillows in the well. I have done that for years in other cars. Works exceptionally well.

Looking forward to hearing what you get.
