Is it acceptable to bury biodegradable bags that contain poop, not close to water, at least a foot deep etc?

I know how to dig a cat hole (just like we did in the Army) but what if you want to get rid of a bag of poop and are no where near a trash can.

Thanks

I wouldn't....very much NOT an LNT practice Those bags may be biodegradeable but they take quite a while to do so and then the poop and TP still has to break down. I think it's a bad idea, personally, especially out of respect for the environment. Habits like that are what causes agencies to ban cat holes and make you pack out your poop. Just double or triple bag it and wait until you can dispose of it properly.

They are designed to degrade in compost pile conditions, not just a hole in the ground.

From Mother Nature Network: "... they will completely degrade in 90 days in a compost pile that maintains a minimum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius (113 Fahrenheit)... the generally accepted ideal internal temperature for the center of an active compost pile is between 90 degrees and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. To reach that temperature, a compost pile should be at least 3 feet tall, 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep, have a mixture of green material (such as grass clippings and food scraps) to supply nitrogen, brown material (leaves, small branches) to add carbon, have adequate moisture levels and be turned over on a regular basis to give the contents access to oxygen." https://www.mnn.com/your-home/organic-farming-gardening/stories/do-compostable-bags-really-work

IMO, if you want to bury the poop, do it without the bag.

no don't do it. also no baby wipes. I don't even put TP in the hole if I can burn it. highdesertranger

Thanks, I got the idea, don't bury the plastic because it's not going to go away just like that. Thanks Again
