By the way, today I grossed $325 in fares. The company gets 20 to 25 percent depending on which customer I drove for. Last Friday I had set a new personal best record for 1 day high gross of $460 driving for over 12 hours in a single day. Most days I'm content grossing over $200 daily. Other days I want to set new records, haha. Hey, it beats loitering at the malls and shopping for new wrist watches I don't need.

If I may ask, you would have netted about $243.75 from that. How many miles did you put in that time? And or what was your fuel cost?
Any consideration for insurance, registration, maintenance, taxes?

I don't even wanna guess at your numbers, I do know for myself, that there was a time a couple years ago that my cost to roll including items mentioned above on a yearly bases was costing me a $1.33/mile OUCH,.

Even if he spent about $100 a day in fees (gas, monthly insurance divided daily, etc), that would still be $143.75 a day. That's nearly $18 an hour for a regular wage job (8 hours per day average). I understand he's working more than 8 hours, but most companies that pay 18 an hour won't let you work more than 8 hours anyways.

I think that's fairly good! And for 460? That's $345 gross, or $245 after maximum fees. That's a pretty darn good deal if you ask me!

My driving job pays waaaaaay better than any retail job that I know of. Plus I can choose to work as many hours I want to earn more. I am my own boss. Nobody but nobody tells me what to do or how to do it. Very flexible indeed. At this moment, I'm about to take an afternoon nap before working again. Why? Cuz I can, haha.

I bet there is a population density that makes it worth while. Anything less and the cost to participate is just not worth it. Because it would be a long wait between customers.
