I'm a newbie, both RVing and here on the forums. I don't see any threads about either staying healthy or living with a chronic illness.

I am both: healthy and live with a chronic illness.   I've always looked after myself, exercising, staying fit and slim, eating a vegetarian diet, eating whole organic foods, even growing my own veggies and berries. And yet, I did get a chronic illness, Microscopic Colitis. Interestingly, it coincided with the stress of selling our house and all our possessions and becoming full timers in a small RV.

Now I have to try extra hard to stay healthy! Diet is the only way I can control this disease. Sourcing good foods and storing enough of them has been a challenge. Finding organic food is especially hard in many places. And expensive!

Does anyone else here travel while dealing with a health issue? I'd love to hear how you deal with it. I refuse to stay tied to a sticks and bricks lifestyle just because of my disease!

I suffer from Lyme and food helps my disease tremendously. I don't always eat the best and when I get lazy with my food, my body pays the price for sure.

I plan on having two 12volt fridge/freezers. One for the fridge and one to stock up with frozen meats, hoping I can get a month in between restocks of meat. I always try and source from locally raised/harvested sources.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are just about everywhere. And carrying some beans and rice is my go to. Between the three I can create some very healthy meals that don't cause my body tons of inflammation.

Isn't that the truth?!  :( My diet is quite limited and sometimes I just want to eat what I used to eat or have a treat, but every time I do, I have a flare. It's just not worth it. Quality of life depends on being healthy and healthy means hard work and vigilance.....so be it!
