I did find them reconditioned at Partsgeek for like $50 per wheel (plus shipping of course) and might go that route if I don't find some locally, when I have some bux to spend
Why wouldn't you be able to mount the spare carrier? it's designed for the van I believe

whats wrong with the 17s?
dont like them? tires cost more?

a stock chevy steel rally with rings and center caps for under $100 is a deal

These weren't rallies, they were just stock steelies, no caps, no rings
mostly I don't care for custom wheels, a lot of times they're more of a problem getting on and off than a steel wheel (round a lugnut and you aren't gonna get a chisel on it to turn it off)
but also it's the cost of the tires, although as I am learning, the 17s really aren't all THAT much more expensive
these are the wheels from parts geek

do it art,do it,you would be big pimpin vandweller dude

The tires on the the van are LT (supposedly) and also 235's I believe which are bigger than the original tires. I don't know the difference in width but the spare is same as the ones on it when I bought it. The tire itself is wider than the door. That was a let down. I checked a couple wrecking yards and wound up finding the wheel at a used tire shop. Castillo's.
Be living with it in the van for a bit.

Yeah! Go for those, Art. You could have the biggest.....brakes in town. :) Dog rollers. lol

Well Gary, if I hadn't already blown my wad on tires, the wheels in Houston might be tempting, but stock for my van is 15x7 I'm opretty sure
San Antonio I avoid like the plague, only time I ever went there I got so lost I couldn't get out lol

Hmmm, Dennis, the spare on my rear is a 205 75 15, wonder if the 235 I have will change things any, we shall see, I guess

One thing I have NOT found is the door tag for GVWR, tire requirements, GAWR, etc
a VIN check indicates it was sold as an 'incomplete' and gives very little info
original tires were 225/75/15, 5.7 liter, 4spd Auto, canada built
Still haven't tried crawling under tio look for a rear end tag

I had thought about maybe a smaller tire to keep it outside but fixed up a mount inside as much out of the way as possible for now. Will probably pay to check clearance on your door for a 235 before buying if you haven't already.
VIN showing incomplete due to going to a conversion company maybe. The weight ratings weren't shown on the title or registration? Yours may vary a little but mine shows 5,000 GVWR.
My door tag is barely readable. Took a couple of closeup photos and can enlarge and then able to make out the info on it.

Ballenex that's my thoughts exactly
Dennis, I think 5000lb is probably your vehicles curb weight, not the GVWR, they always put curb weight on the title, and mine is 4900lb
and yes, I think it is because it's a conversion van that it shows 'incomplete'

Hey Art, I know squat about tires, but if the ones that go on your van are the same size/bolt pattern as Jeep Wranglers, you could get a killer deal on brand new wheels and tires. New Jeep owners ditch the stocks almost immediately when they start their build. CL and all the Jeep forums are full of them.

None at the moment in my area, Queen, but one reference indicated that 2007-2009 Wranglers do indeed have the same 5x5 bolt circle, I'll keep that in mind, thanks!

Jeep people are like Harley people (I've been both), buy something brand new and awesome, but immediately start tearing into it and replacing perfectly good parts with newer/bigger/shinier.   :D

Hot Rodders are the same, with either new and shiny or old and ugly, I was one of those for a while, my specialty was taking fast ugly cars and turning them into FASTER ugly cars :D

SO glad I'm past that stage... and sure wish I could get even a fraction of the money back I spent on those hobbies.  You'd have thought I was made of money back then.

I'd like to have the current value of all those cool old cars I got for $500-$1000 back then, a 68 road runner goes for thousands now, I bought one BITD for $700
*kicks self hard*

Definitely. I drove cars in HS that would be worth 25K or more now... and I paid $400 or so for most of them.

yup, things definitely change over time, I still love those old rumblers, but driving one would drive me buggy
*old man voice* "this thing is too LOUD"

I still stare longingly at '65 Mustangs, then remember the no power steering or power brakes and realize I would NOT enjoy driving one anymore.
