Hey guys....I am sorry for not bein here. I spent some time in York Nebraska and I got really sick with some stomach bug. I have always been on top of the whole sanitation effort but sometimes you just get sick. And being sick living in your suv is not cool and not for sissies! And being alone you usually don't take care of yourself once you do get sick.
By day 5, I couldn't even keep a sip of water down therefore, I stopped drinking. That 5th day, I knew something was wrong when my heart starting beating like I have never felt. I drove to the er and my heart had gone into a-phib due to dehydration. My b/p was 140/48. They slowed my heart and rebooted. The biggest fear was a possible stroke. So I had to stay at the hospital. I felt so bad. With no family or friends near.
That's not the worst part! I had to explain why I was living in my car. According to the hospital, you must be a druggie or an alcoholic!!!!! I found out that they were looking for withdrawal symptoms! I was mortified to say the least.
I finally semi lost it and told the Dr I drive a huge suv and I go where I want, stop where I want and I don't drink! After that, I think I cried for an hour.
I have never felt more humiliated in my life!
I am on blood thinners.
I am currently in Salina Kansas and will be here until I can find some work and get back on the road! How do you find temporary work? All advice is welcome! Thanx for listening!

Wow, Cat, that sucks! Glad they got you fixed up... even though they felt the need to label you in the process. No advice to offer as I'm not on the road right now, but I wish you luck.

Damn!!

I am glad to hear you are doing better.

Other than take really good care all I have is a HUG!!

Glad to hear you made it through it all.

AND
Thanks for the heads up on what to expect in the way of "professional presumptions" from them when treating one of US !

I have tons of customer service experiences, office manager and cleaning new construction make ready. But the problem i have run across is I live in Texas and employers are reluctant to hire someone even on a temporary basis who don't live in their state. I can't lie about residency.
I should check with builders here. Never thought about that till now. Most of the times doing new construction make ready require you have your own supplies. Gonna check anyway!

You're welcome. I have actually had a few people who thought the same thing. But more often than not, most are jealous! I love what I do!

I'm so, so sorry you had to live thru such a bad experience. Some people shouldn't be in care giving positions. It sure sounds like this was the case here. People like this get my back up so fast. Are you back to your old self yet?

Take care

Nicole

My son is based out of Seldon Kansas right now. they are just starting the harvest season. Working directly for a custom harvester may not be your thing, and they usually only hire young guys anyway, but the grain elevators and feed lots will be gearing up to take in the harvest. I'm sure many of them use seasonal help as well and that includes in the office and outside. I bet most will train you to do what they need, as long as you're a hard worker.

Glad you're feeling better. I know for myself I can take a ton of pain due to injury or surgery, but make me sick for even a couple days and I'm a big baby.

I am awesome!  I do know better now....drink something or eat ice.
I pride myself on being a good person and they didn't know me. But judge first and ask later is unacceptable. I surely hope no one else ever has to deal with this issue!

I don't know any of them personally, except Shiltz Harvesting. They already have their crew now that my son made a beeline through here on his way there from California. He actually drove in 7 states in 5 days, just 4 days after getting back in the states from Mexico - crazy kid! I would just do a Google search for coops (they are usually the grain elevator owners) and feed lots near Salina Kansas. Then start calling. If you happen to see any on the horizon from where you're at maybe drive to those and ask. Even if they're not hiring, ask if they know any that are. In my experience they are all a pretty tight knit group and generally aware of what the situation is in their area. Best wishes.

Here is a link to my YouTube channel. I just started videos and hopefully I'll get better at it!

You are great!! I am looking forward to making the trip to Flastaff next month and meeting with new people...I can't wait!
Thank you Brad!

Things you can pick up easily on the road if you have stomach distress - from the supermarket, peppermint tea and powdered ginger root and fennel seeds from the spice section. If you can get fresh ginger root, even better. Make a tea out of one or all of these together and just keep chugging it down all day long. Since I'm an herbalist, I also have on hand powdered black walnut hulls (parasites) and powdered charcoal (food poisoning) which I add to the mix. Turmeric would also help, available in the spice section.
