After 18 months back east we finally are back out west. Took us 10 days to get 1300 miles. Stopped at casinos on the way out and stayed a few days at each. Currently we are in Logan NM.  Bought the annual camping pass and plan on working our way down through NM. Sure did miss the sunsets. Brought the travel trailer and the van.

Hope to be in that very large neighborhood soon ... and functional within a month or so.

In the past, I lived in the west for a while, though being raised on the East Coast.  When I finally traveled back east, I remember feeling the way you describe.  Finally back.

Now, all these years later, it will be interesting to see if I have the same feeling, in the opposite direction.

The one thing that I could not get used to was humidity. Being back out west it is nice to get a shower and have dry hair in ten minutes. The sand spurs can get you once in a while but it is still better than wet leaves and snow.

Sorry you had to go back east. ;)

I know why I moved there, but I don't know why I stayed 17 years. I must have gone a little insane.
