Hi All:

I'm Bob. I have already posted some questions so now I'm going back for the introduction invitation. I found Bob's site googling something like living cheaply or inexpensively. From my teen years (70's) I can remember wanting to have a vehicle where I could climb from the front into the back and be in a comfortable space. But I never acted on that heart's desire, instead buying the "chick magnet" muscle cars --rides that impressed others. There's nothing wrong with being proud of one's vehicle --see that (people creating simple living spaces that are mobile) here on this site and what a wonderful variety of ideas. The last few years I've been more "driven" by my original plan to live in a home that's mobile so I too am making a plan and working the plan to simplify like others being encouraged here at Bob's site. That's it for now.

Let an old man be the first to welcome you. I too had that dream for years and finally got the backbone to jump in with both feet. I now full-time in a old 30 ft motor home. Love it doesn't even begin to come close. Ed

Safaribob, my van is in the driveway next to my pickup, and my wife's minivan. Next to both of those is a 73 el camino ss that we hope to restore to pull our rebuilt 69 Shasta 14' travel trailer. It IS possible to have the best of both worlds. I have seen some real nice antique campers and vans in my travels, but the 30's ford model a dual wheel truck ( a souped up canary yellow one) with the 80's Toyota dauphin camper body was awesome! Welcome to the forum!

Hi Bob, I too have been drawn to mobile living since my teens. I remember so well a pickup a friend of mine had with a tall shell. Across the bed they had put a bed wide enough for both of them to sleep. The first time I saw it I thought, "How great would that be, I could go camping and have a place to sleep." Little did I know that a few decades later I would be living in a pickup very much like that one. It took me a while to get here, but what's important is that I am there now. Don't let go of your dreams!! Bob
