A Day in the Life of a Dweller...

How does a 'dweller spend their day?   Not looking for a blog here, just a sample of a 'typical' day, if there is such an animal. Here's ours: We are full-time RVers.  We travel around the country doing multi-month stints at state and national parks.  Usually we have a few weeks 'off' between stints where we roam a bit. Right now our 'typical' day begins with the usual morning ablutions followed by a great low-carb breakfast. The TV providing an update on the worldly happenings. After breakfast we get ready and head to the park headquarters where we meet our group for the day's first tour of the park. (right now we are in west Texas at Seminole Canyon State Park) Two hours spent leading an informational tour and hike and then we are free for a few hours. We return to our rig where we relax and take care of any domestic chores.  This is when I spend most of my time reading this forum and a couple others.  If I have any repair or maintenance projects I work on them too.  We also spend some time researching new information to share with our tour groups. Mid-afternoon we do our second tour/hike of the day. Late-afternoon/early-evening we return to the RV.  The latte machine comes on first thing (I'm a closet barista!) We relax some more while we enjoy our drinks.  More TV - sometimes we get back in time to catch Jeopardy <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" class="emoticon bbc_img">  Then it's time for evening down time readin', writin' and surfing the the Internet - more time on this forum and others.  Answer emails etc.  Update our blog (wayyyy behind on that tho.)  This accompanied with the requisite glass of wine.  We also frequently spend time visiting with our neighbors parked nearby. Dinner is no set schedule - whenever we feel like eating. Finally our lids begin drooping and it's off to bed. Nothing too special.  Very similar to a non-RVing lifestyle BUT we are doing what we love and get to try something different every few months. The perfect life?  Yup - it is for us! So - tell us about your 'typical' day.

I have only been at it for a few weeks now, so I don't have a "typical" day yet. I usually go to a Panera bread for breakfast and free wifi where I browse Craig's List for any gigs I can pick up. I also catch up on tv/movies if nothing is immediately available. Then I ride my bike to the gym where I try to get my fat butt back in shape. Then back to Panera for dinner and more wifi. I do some temp work or whatever gigs I can pick up. I also do some side work for a few land lords I have hooked up with. I do my shopping or my laundry  around 4 am. I usually go to sleep around 10 pm.

Pretty much the same as when I was living in more traditional housing.  Wake up and do the morning get out of bed thing, make breakfast (usually oatmeal), and then get to working (I work a full-time job over the Internet).  Then after work I make dinner, go for a walk, and enjoy wherever I happen to be (currently the southwest).  When I'm in Travel mode, I will usually drive for about an hour. On the weekends I refill water, do laundry if needed, empty the port-a-pottie, The normal household chores, and then I try to focus on enjoying wherever I am.  connecting with people, or nature or whatever happens to be my surroundings that week.  sometimes I'll travel some more, depending on how energetic I am. Generally I try to find good spots out in nature on public land on the weekends to spend the next week while I'm working, but I don't work very hard at it and I don't always succeed. Besides making sure I have enough food and water, I try not to plan much beyond today/tomorrow anymore.  People ask me, how long will you be here? I always answer, whenever I get tired of here, or get excited about somewhere else! I do try to keep a general destination in mind for my travels, like right now, my general direction is south, just so I stay in the warmer parts over the winter, but eventually I'll run out of south and turn around and head back north, hopefully winter will be mostly over by then <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"> With Love, Tara

My daily morning routine hasnÃ¢Â€Â™t changed much over the years. I get up around five in the morning, exercise for about 30 minutes, just the usual stretching stuff, then I start preparing for breakfast while having my first cup of coffee. By 8am IÃ¢Â€Â™ll be at my desk starting my online work and will be at it until noon.
