I got good news. A county employee called today to say my property is at the "erosion control" phase, meaning that it passed the toxicity testing and asbestos is not a problem for us. Quite a few of our neighbors are having to have their properties re-scraped, but my land is fine.

He'll come here tomorrow for my signature to waive erosion control which is not a problem since the property is completely flat. Then the state will release the property to the county and the county will release it back to me, and then we can get a building permit - for my daughter's house. I'm planning to have a nice shed to put my stuff in, but to mainly live in the van. At least, that's the plan for now.

TA - I am So happy for you. You have had your share of Troubles and deserve some blessings.

Travelaround, that is great news. Make sure those kids leave plenty of space and easy acess for you to eventually bring in a small mobile home.should life later, once again, point you in that direction.

Thanks everyone -

I've already told them that the back left corner of the property is my space. There's a big "gate to nowhere" there now. (It used to be part of the fencing, before the fire.) I thought it could become my front gate...

Worked pretty hard today. The generator was running for a number of hours. It only cut out once but stated right back up. I was able to use the router to radius all the edges. Then also got all the doors sanded using my random orbital. sander. At the next campsite I will do some final touchup hand sanding .

My hands are still tingling from the vibrations of power sanding. It got pretty hot out in tthe early afternoon. Of course my back did not like all the standing time during the router work. Bu I was able to sit down for most of the sanding. It was rather rough on me but mentally I really needed to just push on through the discomforts and get that part of the cabinet door work finished before I move on to a new campsite. I did not want to be camping next to anyone while making all that generator and power tool noise.

Looking out the window at all the mess I need to pack away before dark. But first time for a beverage and a light meal. I have run out of fuel and stamina.

I hope you get a lot of good rest tonight, Maki. You work hard. Have you chosen your next camp location yet?

I'm having a peaceful reading day here. I need to do laundry but haven't the energy for it right now. I haven't been feeling well the last few days. I have managed to do some cleaning and organizing inside the trailer, so that's always nice. Just moving the little clothes dryer and the van fridge out of here makes it feel more spacious. (They are in the van now.)

I was surprised by the Klamath Falls Oregon Walmart...................No Cashiers !

Every register is a Self-Check-Out.........and then the "greeter" at the door counts all the packages ?

I was laying on my bed in the back of the van reading and looked up and saw this and what the heck is it. Let me know if this link doesn't work.

That is a goose neck horse trailer with front tack room and living quarters. The open windows at the rear are horse stalls.

Yeah out west you see a lot of them. Lots of horse camping out here weather for work or for fun. Highdesertranger

Tonight I'm at the end of a Safeway parking lot with a view of my favorite mountain. It's raining off and on. I'm not going to put up my window coverings. Hopefully I won't get the knock but I think there's a couple other people stealth camping here too..

I will know where my next campsite will be when I get there. I will decide tomorrow, it depends on my energy level as to what I feel like doing and how much driving I want to take on plus how early of a start I get.

Right this minute pulling into a truckstop and staying long enough to take a half dozen showers sounds very appealing. But that would be a budget buster so it won't happen.

Hmmm... I detect the need for a shower! I just took one... really makes a huge difference in how I feel. I was just wondering if you plan these moves in advance, or do it on the fly. I'm usually an on-the-fly parking space chooser. I'm not good at planning ahead - a great problem all my life.

What an interesting day. As I was pulling out of a forest campsite I looked back to make sure that everything was picked up and carried away with me. . That’s when the tree jumped out in front of me. I had no seatbelt on because I usually don’t on Forest Road so I can take pictures. I know that’s an excuse. My bumper is bent back to where fiberglass part is rubbing on the tire. My windshield is cracked. None of the front lights work so the bulbs will have to be replaced, at least the lenses are not cracked. I asked a friend who’s coming to visit tomorrow if he has a come along or stout chain so we can pull the bumper back a few inches towards where it belongs. Of course not wearing a seatbelt my chest hit the steering wheel and is very very sore. I’ve had broken ribs and cracked ribs before this doesn’t reach that level of pain, it must be just bruised, it only hurts when I breathe. Everything in the back I thought was connected has moved a few inches to a few feet forward. The way my chest feels I don’t think I’m gonna be able to repair everything right away. I did manage to move things around so I have room to sit and sleep in my recliner. I’m sleeping with extra strength Tylenol tonight and hoping to some better in the am. I could not have been going even 5 miles an hour but when you meet a large immovable tree even at that speed it can do its damage. make sure to double check that campsite before you pull out Not as you are pulling out. You think I would know better as often as I’ve done this. God bless all the nomads wherever they are tonight.

Jeez dude be careful. If you are in much pain go to the ER, please.

Damn trees running out in the middle of the road. What I do is to pull out of my spot at least the length of my rig and get out and do a walk around.

I thought I covered this earlier but I don’t see it. I’m not too upset about the damage done to my van because I’m all set up to win Bob’s old van soon. The rest of you all support HOWA by by buying tickets but it’s mine.:)
