Maki2 - have you been to lumberyard lately? if you haven’t you’re in for a surprise. Better take Mucho money. I had to pay $36 for 10 8 foot furring strips last week. I need plywood to build a cabinet desk the same kind I used to build the van a year ago which cost $46 is now $80. So enjoy that trip to the lumberyard but stop at the bank first. God bless the nomads especially those of us on fixed incomes.

Fortunately I dont need all that much lumber. Just a small amount of plywood for building drawers. I have all tthe wood for the doors and the trim that goes arond the windows, door, countertop and ceiling. All the small town stock for ply is ACX which is not very nice for finished cabinets. Plus I dont need full sheets. A good lumberyard is a real treasure, I have been spoiled rotten with access to them in the Puget Sound Region of Wa state. That and specialty hardwood stores.

I bet you will be looking for something cheaper or thinner to build with as lately a good lumber yard has everyone's money in their treasure chest! Lol!!!

Got up early this morning to go to a good spot to watch 60 Starlink satellites pass. I wanted to see them and a friend sent me a link last night that it's a good viewing time this morning.

Of course lumber prices are up. There are several factors causing that. But talking about them would create too many fires for the moderators to extinguish. They are busy enough as it is.

Check your car insurance- Today! Thought I had best rates because I was a long term customer 30 plus years... sea to sea company; I'll use the phrase Nationwide was bested by $160 dollars a month by the COMPETITION. They relied
Too heavily on their guidelines and it cost them a customer who said they could be judged unfavorably in the court of public opinion...I've heard it said watch out for the 3 I monster...Income tax, Insurance and Interest rate.

Easy drive today from Williams AZ to Flagstaff via hwy 40. No steep climbs, just ggradual ones. Camped outside of town now but only staying for one night at this NFS spot. I want to do some more expolring of options in the area before I settle in for a 2 week stay. Nice to relax, took a nap, going to do a few quick cleaning chores like washing windows. Will get out my winter sleeping bag as it will be low 30s here tonight. But the daytime temp is perfect! Windy day but the pines are doing their windbreak job for me. Have a good spot with solar among them.

You just passed me on I40, I’m just north of bellemont on some forest service road. A week from now leaving arizona for Cortez Colorado via galllup nm.

Is there some reason you want to go to Gallup? You are missing a lot of pretty country ( but it is getting hot by ) not coming up 89 and spending a few days. There is a back road just before Blanding Utah coming up from Bluff Utah goes to Cortez.

Sitting in the parking lot at Verizon waiting for my appointment time, which is in about a half hour. Verified that my dead iphone is still under warranty as well as being insured.

First stop of the day in Flagstaff was a Uhaul store to get a replacement part for my vehicle side socket for my trailer lights. I will install that myself as their service rate is $90 per hour. Fortunately I travel with tools for doing electrical work. Right now the lights do work for safe driving but I want to get it done before the damaged one falls apart. Passed by a lumber yard on the way to Uhaul so will I backtrack a half mile after my phone appointment and check it out to see what they stock.

Next errand will be to Walmart to get some cardstock for the kits I sell on Etsy. Almost out of that particular cardstock. Of course bonus points as I can get a couple of little pies while I am there.

That ought to be enough errands for the day so next up will be to use some gps coordinates to find the group inthe Flagstaff area that I was invited to camp with.

Hope everyone is having a fine spring day!

Yep, seems they have a hard time getting the wires in the recommended locations! Lol!!! It worked on the rental trailer but not on any other, I guess it was easier to wire the plug they were getting paid to install to match the miss wired trailer than fix their trailer!

I didn't start working like i thought i would.....by mind said yes...my body said NO !!!    It's hard enough for me to do stuff around my own place....let alone help someone else .   I am not cut out for physical labor anymore.   At least not now.  I did join a gym...and plan on swimming for exercise ...(my preferred type of exercise)....after i get into shape swimming, i will feel great....right now i feel terrible...mentally & physically.

Hello fellow nomads. Several people were talking about my pictures so I’m gonna put some more up from my latest adventure up in the Tuscarora forest. I was working on getting wildflowers but was lucky enough to get a beautiful butterfly. I’ve taken many pictures of this little butterfly over the years but he always keeps his wings closed it’s only about the size of a dime with his wings closed and not much bigger than a nickel with them open but I finally got one with them open. It’s called an eastern tailed blue and the one I have here is a mail.  I’m also including a fair picture of a meadowlark and a beautiful wild Azalea that I found.  Oops I’ll have to add the azalea later as it says the files too big so I have some editing to do. In the meantime here’s the first three. If you like them let me know and I’ll add more I have so many I don’t want to bore you with and I have alot from Florida that I didn’t show anybody yet.eastern tailed blue closed 2.jpgeastern tailed blue open ed.jpgmeadowlark.jpg

In response to “bullfrog”, my original plan was to stay in ariz another 2 weeks or so but suddenly got the itch to go to sw Colorado, I’m only stopping in Gallup for an overnighted as the groceries, wine etc has better selection than flagstaff. Going to 8000’ or so once there. Will circle around thru New Mexico in July then back to ariz in august, 9000’ or more just outside springerville thru September then back to ajo, ariz. maybe see you in passing.

Such high elevations! Are there any drawbacks to it if you're not used to it?

The only time I've ever been in very high elevations was driving through Colorado with
my husband-to-be in the early 80's and all I remember was at one point he was having problems with
his new RX7 because it wasn't getting enough oxygen.

nature lover:

Great pics! As Oliver Twist once said: "Please, sir, may I have more?"

Got burned out dealing with getting a new phone and it was almost 3 in the afternoon so I went back to my previous campsite as I knew how to get there.

Ended up getting a new iphone but discounted $300.00 on an upgrade deal. So not a lot out of pocket for a new phone. Now I will mail the broken one into the warranty dept and get a replacement sent to my home mailbox service. That way I will have a another one to switch the SIM card into if I get into this situation again in the future.

Love/ hate relationship with phone companies. The official Verizon store was a mess, under remodel, only took customers by appointments, no inventory to speak of and that was all kept out of sight in a back room. Sales people restricted by corporate policy in what they could help with. So I went to an independent, authorized Verizon dealer and they were terrific, hand held me in getting issues resolved, got my new phone up and running except for installing apps and they had a much less expensive Iphone upgrade model in stock. No appointment needed either.

after jumping many many hurdles I was finally able to get myself some of the safemoon crypto. took forever to find the right combo as not every exchange allows Americans... or even Wa State residents...hmph..

anyhow let's see what happens... nearly 150 bux got me 18 million coins...

long way to go to rise to a penny... but that's ok.. it's all about the ride. Safemoon is soon to be accessible to Asia and the middle east.. (weekish) AND they are currently developing their own wallet making it easier to buy.

I imagine those factors will push it in the right direction... if not..oh well only 150 bux lost.

I think I finally got that azalea done. I’m having a hard time resizing pictures that are too big to post.  I have to relearn a lot of things and if I don’t use them daily I got a learn them again.  Brain damage is a wonderful thing.  It will keep you humble.  This is the first wild Azalea I ever found in Perry County PA I’ve seen them many other places before.
