Had a nice visit with Maki tonight masked around a small fire. Was great to finally meet in person and she’s just as smart as I knew she would be. My old brain certainly doesn’t work like it used to.

I saw Jim in Denver and we had a nice chat. He’s proud as can be and pleased as punch to be a new Grandfather of five.

I bought an Indian Taco in town and split it with my sister. It was very good.

Ravella baked sourdough today and I was the recipient!!!! Woo hooo. It was oh so fresh, perfectly baked and had fancy little marks on the top. Thank you Ravella!!

I took it home and sliced a bit and spread on warmed honey mixed with butter. Oh mannnnn. If you are in the area and good at begging I suggest you do so.

DELICIOUS

Travelaround..Hooray, you have some creature comforts, no more freezing cold nights no more need for motel showers.

I am enjoying my heater being on this evening. It is very eady on the electricity and on the diesel fuel. But it is getting a bit too warm in here as it is not a really cold night.

Sounds like you are all having a good time in Quartzsite! I'm just happy to be living in a trailer now after all this time in the van.... especially because there's to be RAIN every day this week!!

It is kind of fun to get used to all the new amenities. I finally figured out how to use bluetooth to pair my cellphone with the radio in the trailer... and tuned into YouTube and put on some nice praise music... kind of loud because I thought not much could be heard next door because of the rainstorm. But when I went outside to get more things I discovered there are outdoor speakers and they were ON... and so I had to figure out how to turn them off. Fortunately no neighbors complained.

I have no idea how to use the TV... my daughter mentioned something about Blu-Ray. No hurry on that, but it would be nice to be able to use it.

I still don't have hot water and the refrigerator may not be working... a light that was supposed to come on in the Dometic fridge doesnt.. and it didn't seem cold enough. I guess both fridge and hot water heater run on both propane or electricity and I wonder which is better but.. will not like having to get more propane frequently. Maybe I should get the Iceco van fridge out of the cargo trailer and use that for a freezer.

Cammalu - you are a very nasty person talking about all those good eats and then saying we could beg if we could get there do you know how far it is from Sarasota Florida to quartzsite ? I envy you sourdough is wonderful stuff makes the best pancakes in the world. Or in your case slice some of that bread and make French toast out of it. And that taco. My mouth is watering. But I’m too lazy to cook anything myself as usual. It’s a wonder I’m so fat when I don’t cook much oh well. Partly cloudy and in the upper 70s here in Florida. And I’m just sitting in the van with my leg propped up hoping to see a doctor on Monday. If the doctor can’t do anything for my foot I guess I’ll let an alligator get it.

the Lady who owns the property that I mined on this past summer made me homemade sourdough pancakes several times over the summer.

finally I had to tell her that we needed to do a little pancake planning because I would eat to many and then I couldn't get anything done all day because I was to lazy. LOL

but the hot cakes were the bomb. especially because I had 1/2 gallon of pure 100% Vermont maple syrup. that reminds me I need to order some more as we ate it all.

nature lover:

I recently had my foot swell up like a puffer fish...to painfull to remove from elevation...gravity made it much worse. Ortho clinic thought it must be a bug bite as xrays showed no fracture. There was no improvement after a week, so I went to a rheumatologist, who diagnosed gout and mixed a couple of vials together and gave me a shot. Things started improving drastically and within a day I was back on my foot. I have heard some refer to it as the "gold shot" and insurance only paid part of it as it is expensive. I am hoping you get a correct diagnosis the first time with your foot and that it responds rapidly to treatment.

Maybe you are out of propane?  There are cpmanies that rent larger sized propane tanks that get used by residents in some RV park. The propane truck comes around to fill them on site. When you drive around in your RV park keep your eyes open and see if you can spot any of those larger tanks outside of the Rvs .. Then ask the name of that service.

Maki is offering to help with this stupid RV. We have multiple problems and it’s pissing me off. I want to cry. I will be paying for her services of course even if she kicks and screams. You can’t image what one has to pay at an RV place. It turns your stomach. This RV was supposed to be a super good brand and I suppose it is but you have to be a rocket scientist to figure out all the buttons and switches. I don’t even know what half of them are. A GFI outlet keeps popping. What the hell is that about. It’s been replaced. The dang bidet won’t act right and one slide won’t go out. The water pump keeps cycling every once in a while when no water is running. We had a new motor in the slide last year. John’s hands don’t work anymore so he can’t do a lot of things and I have the mechanical aptitude of an earthworm. He is scheduled to have surgery on both hands in February and I hope it helps.

Maki gave me one of the little teensy houses she makes. It’s really incredible and I don’t even get how people can work with such tiny miniatures. So cute.

HDR. I’ve never had sourdough pancakes. I didn’t even know that was a thing. When will you be getting over this way? I’ll make a pot of that soup you liked so well. Would be awesome with a loaf of Ravella’s bread - hint hint Ravella.

Ravella is threatening to make lemon curd now. I’m going on a lemon search for that! She isn’t far from YARC Camp and has a nice little spot next to a wash - even has trees!

Nature lover pack up the rig and head west. Good eats here and plenty of space.

Cammalu for the water pump cycling check the air pressure in the accumulator tank(pressure tank) could be low or an air pocket in the water heater. after that a small leak is to be suspected.

for the GFI do you have anything plugged into any outlet not just the one where the GFI is? usually the one GFI protects many outlets. a bad ground will also trip the GFI. has it done this since you have owned the RV or did it just start? if they used solid wire in your RV chances are good you have a bad connection somewhere.

I hate slides. sure they are nice in that they give you lots a room but they are a pain in the ass. especially if you drive off pavement.

Sorry about your RV problems, our new trailer is much less complex with no slides but I had to rewire the solar portion, fix the siding falling off and adjust the door every time we run the tongue jack, so I feel your pain. I guess until some company starts building out cargo trailers into toyhauler RVs at a reasonable price we will just have to want and warn others not to waste their money on the new junk.

Bulldog it isn’t even that new! It’s a 2009! Gawd it’s so frustrating!

HDR.... remember what the teachers sounded like in the Charlie Brown cartoons? In case you forgot here is an example:

That’s what you sound like to me trying to teach me about a water pump [emoji12].

I can read what you said but I’m afraid it’s foreign in a language I don’t understand.

Cammila I said I would take a look at the issues. Some I will be able to fix, others I won't. Very iffy if I can fix the slide but sometimes things turn out to be very easy, other times it irquires esomething like a new motor which I would not be able to take care of.

As to assembling little things you do quilting., so give yourself more credit for being able to use small tools and make precise movements. Doing sewing is what developed my good hand to eye coordination.

New to me is anything past about 1990! Lol!!! Most RVs have a hard time lasting over 10 or 15 years without roof or appliance/mechanical problems.
