Yep my trailer is for sure bait for you tube channels. I already had a visit from Randy "the Mobile Traveler" .  but as I am in the paid BLM area I won't  be getting any visits from Bob. However I will be moving to Plumosa in January when Sue Carlson has let the women know to come there tosocially distance camp if they would like to connect with other women of the community. Maybe by then I will have my interior pretty much completed.

Just got a drop by official visit from a BLM ranger who stopped to tell me I would have to move close to the portable restrooms. As he was sure I did not have waste holding tanks. I explained my setup to him of a marine toilet with macerator pump and 5 gallons of black in it plus a 5 gallon grey water tankthat was also emptied by that pump. I also pointed out my 5 .5 gallon "portable blue boy tank" that I just purchased yesterday. I offered to show it to him my setup inside the trailer but he took a pass and said OK I was approved to remain where I am.

There have been people on this forum who told me that BLM would never approve of my waste water setup because I did not have all the waste in a single 10 gallon or more tank. But there is nothing in the rules that says it has to be all in  one single tank. The rule says 10 gallons and no portable toilet. I was upfront that my toilet is a portable but a special one from tne marine industry that had the option to be conerted for pumping out.

Today for the first time on this trip I fired up my little EU1000i generator hoping it would run OK and it does. I had it serviced at the Honda dealership in Seattle before I went on the road. I bought it used a number of years ago. I do want to order a new carburetor for it but I have had way too many other budget priorities to buy something at this time for "just in case".  Part of the reason for not testing it sooner was it was difficult to get to because of all the build materials that had to first be moved to gain access. However the time has come when I will need it to run my 110v tools such as jigsaw, random orbital sander, Bernina sewing machine, model making tools and for days when I want to run the cutting machine or do a lot of time on the laptop in my 3D CAD design program. None of those items requires a large generator to power them.

Time for me to get to work, I have a couple of orders to ship out today. Plus of course there are plenty of build task to work on.

Thanks for letting us know your design is "legal."  Did you point out your RVIA tag or no?

BTW mr noodly advised in another thread that there are two dollar stores with good foodstuffs in Q. Have fun out there.   -crofter

I have already visited both of the dollar stores in Quartzsite as I needed a few items. The hardware store also has a small grocery store in it. There are a couple of more small grocery places in town that I have not visited.

Just got a visit from Abnorm and his wife, followed them out to where the YARC campsite is just so I know how to find it again. I was camped very close to it the first night I was here. Left without remembering I had my laptop charging on a small inverter. So now I am topping up the house battery \ with my little red and black Honda generator. I must look pretty much like a very color obbessive person with all this color coordination going on in my camp. But it is really that a lot of things seem to come in the color red with black accents and the last few years there is a lot of buffalo plaid stuff around.  No point in fighting it, I will just go with the flow and let it happen.

I am much more a fan of rust and teal colors than red. But I just don't care all that much as long as the function of what I buy works.

Hah, someone in a big class A had pulled in next to me and dropped down there levelers. But my generator running must have run them off, they moved on over to a different site a bit further away.  Now I have a weapon of defense handy to keep people from parking too close

Sun is going down now and I still have a few chores to do before it gets too dark.

Maki that little red camper is the Bomb and I’m jealous. I had a couple of campers that size a long time ago and loved them. They weren’t RED though!

Paulette (Abnorm’s wife) is a talented crafter who has a great eye for color. Since space is limited I think mostly what she does now is crochet. Some beautiful items have come from her skilled fingers!

I used to do a lot of crochet work in my childhood on thru my 20s. I once taught it as a class at the Anchorage Alaska community school in the 1970's. It is an intetesting form of needle work so I will enjoy seeing some examples of Paulette's crochet work.

Hello, sounds like things are going well and connections made. So happy to hear all the good news. Saw the dentist today and tomorrow morning get an extraction as I have an abscess. I'm making friends with the RV. Took a shower in there this morning. So nice to be clean again. Still sleeping in the van.

Hello fellow nomads. Since I’m traveling I’m not having much time to be on the forum. And this dictation software causes all sorts of problems. It will change the words after I am done dictating. It has a mind of its own. So forgive me for the mistakes. Tonight I’m at a flying J truckstop just north of the Georgia border in South Carolina. First truckstop This trip. Noise off course And to add insult to injury I hadn’t noticed the train track going behind the property. but boy am I looking forward to that $12 shower tomorrow morning. I believe I’ll be in Florida tomorrow. God bless the nomads wherever they roam.

By the way aren’t some of our regulars missing.? I haven’t seen BNC for a while anyone else.

Wasn't sure anyone noticed. I don't post much.

Taking the van to Denton tomorrow AM to be with the sis's family for Thanksgiving and as a shakedown cruise. My permanent bridge got botched otherwise I would be heading towards Q afterwards. They tell me the replacement should be here Friday, Dec. 4th. Doc even said she would come in on Saturday if I can't be worked in on Friday. I have been busy throwing the last few things in the van. No real grocery shopping yet though. So here is fingers crossed X.

Yay Brian everybody needs a day off (or three). Im sure the road trip will feel great.  -crofter

Speaking of shakedowns....I bought a new-fangled Flame-King refillable propane bottle kit.....I've filled the bottles and used them on a propane lantern and a propane heater...looking forward to trying them out in Q this year...

I have that kit, too. It is second hand, but looks new. I need to determine if there was only one recall or two. If there was a second recall, I'll need to find it and check my serial numbers. When I was looking online, I think I saw a later date recall but lost the thread. In any case, umm too skeert to use it just yet.

Mine are not in the recall's published sequence of numbers....but this is an experiment...I bought these so no one else needs to!

I aint skeert!

(Notice: all other campers are not allowed within 500 feet of my camp)

:p

Another sunny day here in quartzsite  , some wind is expected for this afternoon and tomorrow. But not so much that it will cause me any issues with my camping setup. Come on out and play with us, the weather is very fine and the camping is not at all crowded.

Just sitting here with the computer with the printer hooked up. Running the printer through some cleaning cycles it needed it, some areas on the address labels I was printing for shipping out kits did not have enough ink get onto it. Fortunately I have an ink tank printer so plenty of juice in the tanks to run through the cleansing process without having to buy new ink cartridges. A good time for me to catch up on my gmail and the forums while the printer does its cleaning cycles.

Even though I am using a small inverter for the computer and a second small inverter for the printer my solar panel is still gaining on the use and recharging from what I used overnight and this morning to run my fridge and diesel stove/heater.

Cleaning is all done now and I can print my label and head to the post office. Then tie to check out one of the grocery stores and see if I can find a chicken breast for my T-day dinner. Some people here are in RVs with ovens, some are using solar ovens, others are using smokers or propane fired Turkey fryers. I am just keeping it simple, a chicken breast cooked in my skillet and a few traditional side dishes. I am tempted to go to a local restaurant that is putting out a big T-day dinner but will resist that idea for the sake of my budget and my health especially my waistline's health.

I have cantaloupe to cut up and put into my fridge for snacks during the day. That is not just for snack purposes, it also helps keep me nicely hydrated as it acts as a steady time release of moisture in my body. Water drinking alone does not keep me hydrated. Learned that as a literally painful lesson. I have to eat snacks of water retaining fibers from fruits and veggies several times during the day and at bedtime too. Melons are good moisture retaining fruits.
