Hi everyone, I just spotted a 94 Plymouth Voyager with 123K miles. The ad says "runs well".It has some cosmetic damage I can live with. They are only asking $500. I can afford it now or wait to save up more for a cargo van. If anyone has any info, first hand or anecdotal about one, please answer soon as at that price it won't last. Thanks very much. Don

I owned a 90's Voyager (don't remember the exact year..mid to late 90's tho) and got rid of it because the transmission went on it around 110K and it was cheaper for us to purchase a newer used minivan with less miles (this was when used cars around here were more affordable). Those Plymouth-Dodge minivans (we owned a 90's Dodge Caravan that also got scrapped for a blown transmission) seemed to be notorious for transmission problems around the 100K mark and electronic headaches.

That's what I remember. HTH

Thanks for your info. I want a Chevy or Ford cargo van. The very low price should say something. Probably someone bailing on it. Just tempting because I'm a big baby and I want a van now. I check the van prices on craigslist everyday just to see what I can expect to pay in a few months. Naturally I am heartbroken everyday when I see just what I'm looking for at a good price. Waiting sucks, but I digress. Don

Here is another place to search. Just type in Ford van or Chevrolet van or GMC van or Dodge van etc.. up in the search bar. Lots of really cool looking rides in there. Some might be great for what we do and others not so much.

Note: This is a site that has classic vehicles for sale and sometimes the obvious site name isn't as obvious to some folks that have the delete or edit powers in here.

There are a ton of cool old school vans listed there, thanks for the link. To anyone else, in the search bar type Chevrolet van or dodge van, it doesn't accept "van" for me.  Still haven't figured out how to make a purchase but I'm not ready anyway.

Yes. The Achilles Heel on older Chrysler mini-vans are the transmissions. The V6 engines are OK, and the 4cyl engines are bullet proof.

I am currently in a 1999 Voyager with 199,991 miles on it. I also use it for work driving 170 miles per day delivering newspapers until I can do something else! I live in Maine where right now it can not make its mind up if it wants to be summer or winter... Pot holes and frost heaves. My biggest complaints is 1 thing goes and a chain reaction of unrelated issues occur as well as the ground clearance is not favorable. So until I can upgrade I sink more I to maintaining this so it will last.

I'd like to see somebody turn one into a full on rv or at least a high top camper van of sorts. I've owned many 94/95 models of this van and are my favorite as long as it doesn't have the 3.0 motor
