Found a company called www.completetrailers.com located in TX and CO that build custom cargo type trailers for numerous applications. Anyone ever buy one or have any feedback on them? Looks like they build nice trailers.

    Fitness Trainer work?

Does anyone live in their rv/van/vehicle and make a living as a fitness trainer full time? Seems like it would keep you tied to a specific area since they tend to have regular clients. Upside is use of shower and other amenities in the gyms you work in. Also seems like a possible good profession...

    Ford Transit Driveshaft issues

I remember in another post mention of issues with driveshafts on the Ford Transits and premature failure of the rubber coupler (Gimbal Joint might be the name....not sure). Two service techs for our CNC machines are here today and both have Ford Transit company vans. They said they love the vans...

Walmart in va beach- covered garage parking

The Walmart in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the corner of Kellam Road and Columbus Street has a covered parking garage. It has 8'2" of clearance and I noticed several regular vans parked inside. Looks like it would be a great place to have a shaded spot to park if you're in this area.

Swapping low high top for tall one?

Has anyone had a conversion van that had a short raised roof, and pulled that off and installed a tall raised roof in its place over the existing opening? I wonder if a swap job like this would be any easier for a commercial installer since the roof already has the opening cut.

Place to relax during the day in Va Beach

I found a decent place to hang out during the day in Virginia Beach. Stumpy lake park and golf course off Indian Road has a nice shaded area  as you drive into the golf course road that you can pull into under the trees. There is a Porta John over by the walking trails in the park, and the...

    Paying Tribute To Michael Ra

"We received some sad news that Michael Ra, profiled in Truck Camper Magazine last July, passed away last Friday.  Michael lived full-time in his remarkable hand-built truck camper and traveled to flea markets selling antique tools and other unique items." Full story here with a link in the...

    Pet transport for hire

I have a potential job idea that might be suitable for part or full-times. If you read the news in the last few years you read about all the pets that die during transport in air travel .  I wonder if there's money to be made and transporting someone's pet from point a to point B for them while...

    Custom Vans - what happened?

As a kid in the 70's I was obsessed with custom vans. Constantly saw cooler and badder customization every time you looked in the magazines. Whatever happened to that (the custom van scene)? Every van you see nowadays is a plain factory ride. Even with cars, there seems to be no real interest in...

    Oliver Travel Trailers - anyone?

Anyone own or ever checked out Oliver Travel Trailers? They are supposed to be the high end version of all fiberglass "egg" trailers and high quality from everything I've read. I've never had a chance to see one since they are direct from the factory purchased and the high price tag (approx...

Stealth option - ladder as antenna?

I've read of several builds where people with stealth builds mounted a ladder to the roof of their van or trailer to make it look more like a work vehicle. I like the idea, but wondered if the ladder could be made to function as an antenna for TV, cell/wifi and/or cb radio? I assume antennas for...

    Self build hightop?

I have been researching using foam panels to build various parts, and watched some videos of a complete pickup camper that a guy built with foam board and covered with carbon fiber cloth. It was tough as nails and came out nice.  I was wondering if it would be worth considering making a high top...

    Custom build resources?

I've seen a few custom builds that were made from wood. The owners mention building them using boat building techniques because it can survive the stress of road travel.  Does anyone know of any websites or specific resources where people have built custom RVs on the back of a truck or a trailer...

    Winch on vehicle

I see many dwellers like to travel into the rugged off-road areas with their rigs. I haven't noticed anyone that has installed a winch on the front and/or rear of their van, truck, etc. Seems like this would be a good addition to get unstuck if needed, no matter 2wd or 4wd. Anyone have any...

    Ironing clothes

Question for those that work a full time job but also live full time in a vehicle: how do you iron clothes if you primarily stealth camp/boondock?
