Parker Strip to Prescott Valley Avoiding Mountains?

Does anyone know a way to travel from the Parker strip to Prescott Valley and avoid that mountain range near Wilhoit? It's slowing us down tremendously, and we'd like to travel it again this Saturday. Is there a shortcut anywhere in there? Thanks for any help!

Damaging Winds in the Southwest Right Now

Man, it's blowing like crazy here in Parker, AZ. Weather is stating damaging winds until 8 pm. Time to park and wait it out if you're in the area! Big dust devil just blew past us!

Turn Off Propane Hot Water Heater, or Leave it On?

Okay, so another newbie question. We've had a problem with a switch on the wall of our RV not working properly. It turns on the hot water heater, which is propane only. Had it fixed a few weeks ago, and it stopped working a second time (upon getting up for work). He came back out again to fix it...

    AC Units on 30 AMP?

So, we've got a 30 amp rig. Time to use the air units. There are two in here. Thus far, we can't run both units, and the front unit, if used alone clips off if we turn it above even the lowest setting. Any way to be able to turn it up a notch, or should we plan on roasting?  :-/

    Internet Provider in the Boondocks?

Well, here we are in the RV park in Parker, AZ. Thus far, not so bad. Had a real issue with the internet until today. They have a cable/internet provider here. We'll probably hang here for about a month, but then what? Which internet provider should we use? Is there a wifi that works in most...

Wind and the move out frenzy!

We hadn't been online lately, because we were buying the RV and moving out of the house. SO, we went to California and we loved the RV, so we bought it! We went down the road and bought new tires, safety first. So, as they were putting the tires on it, I secured insurance for the drive back to...

    The Time Is Finally Here!

Well, after we sold the house, the closing went really fast, and that part is over and done with. We'll be driving to California to see an RV tomorrow, and if we like it, we'll buy it. From the looks of it, we both love it. If not, we'll rent a hotel in Laughlin until we find one. What a journey...

Expert Help Needed on Two RV Choices...

I posted this to another blog, but I need as much help as I can get! Due to our business, we decided on a Class A. Which of these two RVs is the better choice as far as quality, etc.? We're going to look at both this weekend, and we're certainly not experts. I have done a lot of research in the...

What's The Name of Your Rig?

So, I'm thinking about a name for the rig we'll get within the next three weeks....perhaps "Hartizz"? Because, well, "Home is where the Heart Is"  :D Or maybe we'll come up with something else? We named our van conversion "Hi Ho Silver" .......awaaaay!  What did you name your rig?

What's on Your Travel Bucket List?

I've been to a lot of places, and plan to visit many more. This time, however, I plan to stop and smell a lot of campfires along the way. One of my first stops on the way will be Utah. I've passed through, but didn't get to stop and explore at all. Lake Powell looks sooo cool! I'd love to see the...

    Collective Thought Experiment

I was a long time listener of late night talk radio, namely, Art Bell. The station doesn't come in where I live now, and the host has since changed over. I was listening one night about "collective thought" wherein Art did an experiment requesting everyone listening to have a "collective...

    Check Out This Rig!

Was surfing craigslist looking at RVs and came across this bad boy! Not a bad price, either. Perhaps a BIT to big for my taste, but I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. Great build though, wouldn't ya' say? http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/rvs/5631347574.html

How Do We Get the Dagum Seats Out?

Okay, so neither one of us is handy oriented. We need to remove our captain's chairs in our Ford van. The bolts used don't match any wrench we have laying around here. What kind of tool is needed to remove the seats? Do we need to do it by climbing underneath the van, or can we somehow wrench...

    Travelling Vendors Idea Exchange

Are there any other travelling vendors here? I thought I'd start a thread for idea exchanges about event venues, festivals and fairs around the country. It would be great to exchange ideas and venues here for those of us who travel and vend for a living. We currently sell mostly in Arizona, but...

Out of the Lurk and into the Fray, Hello from AZ!

I found this site about a month ago, and have been lurking quite a bit. I decided to join in! Even though we're working towards getting an RV, I decided this would be a friendly place to read and post. We do have a van, but are planning on using both and RV and a conversion van, since we're...
