    building a vented battery box

And how much Hydrogen in the semi-sealed battery?  Water levels in a 6 cell battery would allow about golf ball sized amount for all 6 cells per 12v battery.  Very little 'head room' in those batteries for *that exact reason*  So now  the *excess* is dispersed into the atmosphere.  Albeit an...

    building a vented battery box

I know I'm gonna be odd man out; But F*ck sake!!!!! Does a *properly* charged and maintained flooded battery spew out 30-500 CFM of hydrogen? (Even a poorly one?) Do you smoke? Got a lighter? Release just gas for 15 seconds. Now light the lighter. You just blew up the ENTIRE building! Oh...

The difference between a WV and a Porsche?  lock washers! :D

    Stash Houses?

I pondered the trailer aspect. Even making it all modular inside and slide outs the back to set up a shop with a genny. But the damn thing would be too heavy to drag everywhere. Spreading things out and wishing x was *here*, yes an enormous concern. That's where planing factors in. Granted...

    RV repair at a camp?

Great stuff guys, thanks. Seems iffy at best. Also do-able on the down low. Won't rely on it. (no engine/tranny swaps, figured electrical and tank maint. being primary things most rather not do and hire out)

    RV repair at a camp?

Would offering repairs at a camp be a viable option for some extra cash? Will most/a lot/all of the camps frown upon it?

    Stash Houses?

I have a LOT of crap.  I am a 'shit-magnet' and a uber tool junkie. (Welders, plasma cutter, machining, wood working, electrical, electronics, etc, etc, etc.)  Yes I know I gotta whittle it down. I travel about a 600 mile radius to service a few customers. What do some of you guys do for...

    Not Recomending This . . .

.....If it gets you to a better place to deal with it, then a $500+ tow fee?????

    Cheap restaurant food

Is it like a buffet-to-go where you pay per pound?  If so a LOT of grocery stores around the country offer this.

    Pipedream cooling

Ok maybe not exactly a pipe dream, but rolls up close it. Roll up to your site (boon-docking?) and open up an awning over your home, and beyond for the 'porch'. area.  It s a flexible solar array on cloth/canvas (done to death elsewhere). The awning provides shade for the home  under it, and...

    Coleman stove/grill combo

Almost there: The only long term non stick is cast iron. Djkeev: Yup. sounds bout right. Gonna check one out at a local outfitter (who charges 2x the price literally) and decide. In all honesty, been loving my Lodge cast iron charcoal hibachi for grilling.

    Can you repurpose Cat5 cable?

Slick. My faceplate on my HAM rig is mounted that way too.  Base unit remote located (though the radio came with the cable for remote use)

River Stream charging system - online fundraising

Forget it.  Most micro-hydro needs/wants a 10 foot (3meter) fall. Just using the 'level' stream won't produce anything usable.  Remember the law of diminishing returns; you can't get more out (or even equal) then put in. Its basically windmill, which wants to turn the final rather fast, and if...

    Coleman stove/grill combo

Has anyone used one of these and if so thoughts? http://tinyurl.com/h3errr8 Seems like a good stove at least from the sales pitch. I really like the idea of a grill.  I *think* I can basically live on a single burner, with the grill side as an aux.
