Will I be able to get work in Quartzside area? I will need to work right away I think. Next year I will be able to smell the roses, this year I need to get a few bills paid and a nest egg. So I plan to travel and work this whole year.  Thank you for any advice.

Members of the forums have found work at RV parks, restaurants, and vendor booths. I don't know the details so hopefully, some of them will chime in with more information.

IIWM I'd get there by early October if you can and just make the rounds of the businesses.

Quartzite is a town of about 300 during the summer months and swells to a population of well over a quarter million during the winter months so the businesses there have to hire on additional staff for that time.

There are quite a few restaurants in town that always seemed to be short-staffed. Also there are hundreds of 'flea market' booths that get set up during the winter. I'm sure that there's at least a few of them who hire someone either to assist or to run the booth a couple of days a week so that the owner can run errands etc. Perhaps you might find a couple of them so that you work 2 days for 1, 2 days for another type set up.

Also the first weekend of the RV show, you'll need to be at the big tent first thing on opening day. There are usually at least 4 or 5 of the major southwest park operators with booths set up to hire staff for the summer. California Land Management is only one of them that comes to mind. It's a first there, first hired, pick of the best jobs situation with all of them.

Does anyone belong to Workampers? Any comments for the uninitiated? Thanks!

Rather than Quartzsite I'm looking at the area around Kingman and Lake Havasu for work which is a little further north but not by much. I was thinking southern Utah (where I am currently) but realizing the weather may get too cold for water pipes and tanks (mostly tanks).

If I can find somemthing around Quartzsite, great, but I'll be in the right area. I too am in a situation of needing full-time work for the winter to catch up on some major repairs I have had to fork-out for and thus replenish my savings, plus save for Alaska next summer.

We have survived many a Southern Utah winter by keeping dump valves open and a trickle of water flowing, and since utilities are free or cheap for us 3 1500 watt heaters and a humidifier have kept our 28' motor home unfrozen better than heat tapes, insulation or tank heaters.

If your headed that way soon. Know what type of work would suit you. A waitress is a long day on there feet, but if they get good tips, but, it's Quartzsite(not putting it down, IMHO don't think tips there is way to go). Here's indeed dot com for Quartzsite. I just puller it up. A 5 mile max distance away. https://www.indeed.com/jobs?q=&l=quartzsite,az&radius=5&sort=date

"forum member's", be nice to get some good reference's and the one's to avoid, as in employer's. Seems I remember "Wanderlust Estate" , James, had a bad experience working at a booth. Now don't quote me, but you can search his videos to confirm. James , IMHO, is an honest guy.

Thank you all for the great suggestions!  I am waiting for my mobile home to sell, then I can get a van or something.  then I will head out there. I did look at Indeed.com and saw a few jobs. when I am closer to leaving I will look at that and I will have my resume ready!
