I was a hot rodder most of my life, so go on a few forums....Run a small local one

Now days, am into garden tractors, so a few of them too

Have had RVs for the last 25 years or so, forums for those too. Which kind of brought me here.

I don't do social media, though my DW is a facebook junkie.

I do like political discussions and spend some time at http://s1.zetaboards.com/The_Congress/index/ You can express any political ideology you want there, though the board has a conservative/libertarian lean there are a few outspoken liberals to keep things entertaining. You know what they say, if 2 people agree on everything, one of them isn't necessary.

I also visit Escapees, RV-Dreams, Pop-up Portal, RV.net and Teardrops and Tiny trailers http://www.tnttt.com which might be of interest to some folk here as it deals mainly with construction techniques for small camping trailers.

I also like to listen to Freedom Domain Radio podcasts from a libertarian philosopher, Stefan Molyneux. http://www.fdrpodcasts.com He has interesting thoughts. I especially like several podcasts he has done explaining r vs K evolutionary survival strategies, which allowed me to understand the differences between liberal and conservative rationale. Though I certainly don't agree with everything he says he is enlightening and entertaining.

When motorcycling was my life, I spent endless hours on ADVRider and other MC sites, now that I can't ride anymore I've lost interest or at times, it's too painful.

I used to be totally immersed since my business catered to motorcycles. All my friends are riders, mechanics, builders and/or club members. After I sold mine ('93 Harley FXR - only bike I've ever owned) I stopped going to bike sites.

As far as forums, this is the only one now
Youtube addict especially woodworking or any high level craftsmanship, food, Forensic Files episodes and ancient history docs
Facebook, though since I've eliminated everyone who posts political memes, my 'friend' pool has shrunk considerably.

Update:

I killed my facebook completely, not just deactivated, deleted.  Amazing how much spare time I have now.   :p

I did, however, rediscover a forum I used to be active on to take up some of the slack.  Anyone else on Straight Dope Message Board?  I skip over the politics, but I really enjoy the level of discourse that can be found there.

After a long time away, I'm back here at least once a day.  Might not post as much but keeping up with the goings on.  I do Facebook, mostly family and real friends who luckily have the same political leanings.  Blocked everyone on the other side so I can look them in the face without wanting to slap them for the crap they posted.  .Still going to the Ranger forum but only for info on my new vehicle as it's mostly young guys I have nothing in common with.  I check in with a Poodle forum now and then as well.
