I always erroneously considered 'the south' to end at the florida border.
Ha,  I am the same way  When ever someone refers to the south I always assumed it ended at the border of Florida.

Where is "here"? What are the situations? I used to hear that complaint in south Florida back in the 70's, even letters to the editor, but most of the population was from somewhere else, the majority from... guess where.

Guy

I live near Daytona Beach and seem to have committed the grievous sin of being a woman with really short hair, I get called dyke more here than I have since the 70's. Usually by not terribly clean men either driving large pickup trucks or in bars when I walk within their line of sight. It's disheartening, I'm polite and friendly and get along with just about everyone.

Doesn't mean if there is a bad apple on the tree, that all the others are bad.....

Colon, Panama
Callao, Peru

I don't know anyplace in the US that is as rotten, dangerous and filthy. We have it good and it's a shame we can even think of one of our own cities with hate.

Some of this reminds me of the military training during the Vietnam era. If one man screws up, the whole platoon gets punished.

That reminds me, I could skip Columbia SC for the rest of my life and be okay with it.

Whenever I see angry drivers, it makes me laugh. I'll wave at them or might even blow em a kiss.LOL

In Texas people are very friendly on the roads. They'll wave at you with one finger.

Washington D.C. and Detroit would my least favorite cities. Washington's saving grace is you can go 30 miles west and be in the Virginia countryside.

California
Colorado
District of Columbia
Illinois
Massachusetts
Maryland
New Jersey
Oregon
Rhode Island
South Carolina

All places that will not recognize my Constitutional Right to carry a weapon for self-defense.

A better wording of the question for most people would be: What are the places you've had the worst experiences in?

For me, Warren Ohio was the low point of my travels. I met many others in the same boat, so there was a solidarity of sorts. I also met some great folks in the city who out of the kindness of their hearts helped get me back on track. So, I cannot say that I hate Warren, because hating a place also means hating those who call it home.

The weather, one's mood, confusing signs, parking restrictions, and an unfriendly person or two may conspire to make an experience or memory of a place unpleasant. There is nothing wrong with being glad to leave a place behind, but harboring a hatred of it even after leaving is harmful. Case in point: for over a year after leaving I hated the state I grew up in, New Jersey. Eventually, I realized that such a feeling was counterproductive. I will never voluntarily move back, but I now try to portray the state in a more neutral light.

I actually find Texas drivers some of the most courteous in the country.

The whole stretch of freeway from Detroit to Flint to Saginaw is the most miserable 100 miles in the entire US.  Look up "I'm From Sagnasty" by Ronnie Boss on YouTube.

Just about anywhere in the Humidity Belt or the We Don't Like Strangers Belt. The two overlap quite a bit. ;)

The State of Florida, lived there for 16 years and I don't want to even go there to visit. New York City, Lower Louisiana. Detroit, Michigan

No place I hate to visit......but..taking the Interstate 10 to the 210 thru the City of Los Angeles to get to Interstate 5 to head North...is a pain in the ass. Born and raised in Los Angeles so don't hate the City...just the freeways...!

Going up to Seattle people don't know to merge onto the freeway they stop @ the end and then merge on. They will stop on the freeway for no reason. Have to be very very defensive driver there.  CA stink too.
