Vanagon /Eurovan camper owners

What are the pros and cons of  purchasing a VW  Vanagon  or Eurovan?

Apparently all mechanical issues, they’re neat, but according to every owner, they’re money pits, so if that isn’t an issue then not much downside.

I love my '87 Vanagon.  Sure, I've had to throw some money at it, but what 30 year vehicle doesn't need upkeep? I can't imagine traveling/living in anything else, honestly.
