Using water from river or lake for fresh tank?

Bleach tastes terrible! If I wanted to drink bleach I'd stay in the city. It's hard for me to believe that it's good for your health in the long run.

There are thousands of things that COULD hurt us. It all comes down to your level of comfort with acceptable risk. Viruses are an acceptable risk to me. Vandwelling as a whole is MUCH riskier than life at home in a rocking chair.

That's a BIG part of why I do it! For me, life should be a risk, Only the dead are never at risk in total safety and security.

I'm with you here Bob. But even puddle water can be used as drinking water if filtered and disinfected. UV is tricky to get right. Iodine tablets taste bad. Bad. Chlorine if properly used will make water safe and not have too bad a taste. There are many health uses for chlorine and it should be a part of any survival plan.
Chlorine does share blame for our over population crisis.

bob is right viruses in water are not a big problem in the US and Canada. except during a flood. I keep some bleach with me but only to clean my tanks every so often and just in case. highdesertranger
