I take it the "raw water" morons have never been backpacking. A few days of Giardia might change their minds.

First it was fluoride in the water, then it was vaccines, then it was cooking, now it's water treatment. I wonder what part of modern life the crackpots will wanna reject next. Electricity? Fire?

Disruption for its own sake has been attractive in our political-economics for a long time, for a certain type with too much money and hubris.

Taking advantage of the (IMO very valid) belief that the whole mess is rigged against the welfare of most people

making ever greater fortunes for the scammers

and at the same time distracting and redirecting that anger and energy toward outlets that won't effect any real change.

I'm old enough to remember how the phrase "one of the first ones to be put up against the wall and shot" ends

and it wasn't just an ironic meme.

Colbert's coming out with his own brand of "raw water"

Since I desire to live large where enviroment permits when it comes to water in the mobile dwelling, I'm seriously looking at these known but unorthodox methods to acquire freshwater.

It's probably been discussed already, but I think everyone should own a Sawyer water filter.

They're only $25 at your local Walmart, REI or Amazon and they filter 99.9% of all bacteria etc. You can literally filter pond water and drink it safely. They also sell a kit that you can hook up to a bucket.

You never have to buy replacemebt filter cartridges. They are rated for 1,000,000 gallons!

It's perfect for collected rain water etc.

$25 for this filter is ridiculously cheap. I've used them for years and highly recommend them.
