I signed up for Visible 3 weeks ago. I also got no return label or instructions for returning the phone for the swap. After dealing with their totally useless customer support for 3 days for a no mobile data issue, I finally figured out what was wrong on my own.  Only one device can connect to the phone WiFi hotspot so I'm using a cheap GL.iNet GL-AR150 Mini Travel Router to handle multiple connections. So far it is working great. I'm quite pleased.

Do you have to plug the router into the phone? or does it take the hotspot signal and share that? I purchased PDANet and it is working. Takes a few moments to set up my devices. And when I want to connect, it is an extra step, but works good so far.

I have one of those little repeaters. In WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider) mode it will take the signal from the phone and repeat it and also allow you to connect more devices.

The router connects to the phone's WiFi then rebroadcasts the signal to the other devices. No cable needed.

I just bought a R2 phone and signed up for the Visible service. The phone was only $19 if you didn't want to trade in another phone.

They must be on sale. $19?

They were $99. So I would say yes.

What would be best for a person who uploads videos to YouTube several times each week?

i have been using Visible with their $19 R2-phone tethered to my laptop (using USB ONLY) and getting (in BR, Louisiana) 50 to 120 down and 20 to 60 up- and after i compress the 15-minute video using HandBrake it flys up to YouTube (about 5-minutes)- i want to buy the Galaxy S9 so i can tether using WiFi! but this service is working great for me- also have about 9-months left on my PC's-for-People service which uses Sprint and is very unreliable (can get 20dn/3up sometimes) but if Visible continues to work this good i will drop the PC's-for-People!

btw- Hand Break saves at least 50% of upload data and many times 66%

You can tether via wifi with the R2 LOL

The confusion is the crappy menu on the hotspot tab.

While it *looks* like there are only 2 tether options, USB and Bluetooth, there are actually 3 options.  If you touch the very top line above the USB tether, it is the wifi tethering.
