I don't know why my last post was X 2?  I hope no one used up data reading it 2 X

Q & I are off to the storage    A womans work is NEVER DONE!

We didn't make it to the storage units...I made it to the ER for 3 or 4 hrs.  I thought I had broken or fractured a toe,  seems like I just badly bent/bruised it.  ER staff said it may be fractured and just doesn't show on the Xray.  Taped one toe to it's neighbor so tightly that the end of it turned blue....so besides being in a blue funk anyways I had matchings toes.  I'm just thankful that the 3oz+ heavy glass bottle of Red Door cologne hit my foot before it landed on the throw rug.  I really like that frgrance however it's "certainly potent" as Papa use to say.  If it had broken we would have needed gas masks and  to vacate the premises.   Anybody remember Blue Waltz, Evening In Paris, Tabu or Shalimar?  I still wear the last two.

I've let things get to me too often the last few days so Q and I are declaring a holiday until further notice :D  1 or 2 days as I have got to empty #45 by the tenth,  rent is due on 6th late on 10th.

My toe hurts just walking with a limp.  I bet it will really hurt bending it while crawling/stepping in and out of the Safari or up and down into the storage units.

So now the Safari's AC is unfixed and the rear doors will not open.  If I even get dressed on Sat. I'll be at the mechanics at 8am.........with a lawn chair, book, ice water jug, and snacks.  I was supposed to be there at 2pm today.  I spoke with Lon at 1pm and we set it up for tomorrow.

I hope every one has a good weekend.  I know I've been slack in replying to ya'lls posts here, forgive me

:) Except for a brief trip to the clothes line Q and I have been in bed since Friday evening.  She's all rested up and I'm bored as heck.  Weather permitting we are going to the storage units tomorrow.

Besides the volume of STUFF  I still need to deal with. I'm constantly returning the Safari for "re-do's" which  is time consuming and irritating as hell.  I intended to be rolling north by the 10th and the Safari still has no working air, a short in the lighting system and rear doors that unlock/open whenever they want to.  The Aliner needs 3 tires and bearings checked.  Then the pair of them to the shop so they will be wired and rigged to travel together as a pair.

After all my work I still need to finish emptying the first storage unit when it should be the 2nd one being emptied! Now I'm limping around trying to handle all this.  I'm on my own with all this stuff, I'm OK with that as I do pretty well by myself.

My Mom is in the next building and If I'm up at 4am I get her paper and stick it in the front door, if I'm still up when she turns on her porch light I go down to see if she needs anything and take her little dog out. Around 6:30 to 7:30am my brother is there 3 or 4 mornings a week.  My sister is there at lunch and dinner.  There is a nurse and cleaning assistant there 2 x a week.

I'm in and out 2 to 4 times a day as I'm trying to deal with the storage, Safari, & Aliner situation.  My brother works part time, my sister is retired and not working, I'm disabled and doing my best to deal with a situation of my own making re: down sizeing, getting ready to travel, and now setting up a booth that will hopefully generate some income while I remain in AL, leaving a few weeks at a time.

Two days ago I was asked by my Mom in front of my sister if I would dedicate 1 day a week to staying home so Sis could "have a day off".  My first thought was "Sure I can, and which day of the week do I get off and who is going to do my work for me"?  I didn't say it but I sure thought it!

I love my Mom and Sis, however these are the same family members that shunned me for weeks because last year  I spent the 1st Christmas in 7yrs doing what I wanted to do, in my Aliner and skipped the usual family drama.  Also would not take or return my calls because I do not answer my phone, I call people back.

There is a lot of family history that doesn't need to be spoken of.   I came here for 1yr to re-establish contact with this branch of my family, that was 7yrs ago this March.  I'm trying to do the right thing............sometimes it's hard to decide what that is.   The "right thing" for others does not neccesarily mean it's "right" for me.

Family is hard, I took care of my mom while my brother shirked any responsibility for the last six years of her life, now that she's gone he is trying to reconnect with me.  I happy to see him now and again, but he bailed when I needed him, so much of our connection was lost and I don't see a need to rebuild it, he's shown me over and over he can't be counted on... so I don't.

 Sometimes life just gives me a headache!  My family probably thinks I can't be counted on.  We all have different tastes and views on life.  The 3 of us girls were together a lot when we were little.  I was adopted by my grandparents when I was 3 wks. old.  The 2nd oldest lived with Mom growing up. The youngest lived with her Dad's family a lot.  I've spent 2wks as a teenager in my Mom's home and a few nights here and there as an adult.  I'm a loner pretty much, I do well with folks as long as my movements aren't restricted or dictated by others.  That kinda makes me sound like a wack job??

If I'm asked to go to or particitate in a funtion or outing that I'm not interested in I politely decline.  I don't get all bent out of shape if other folks have something else to do other than what I suggest.  I'm a firm believer in "to thine ownself be true".  Organized functions where it's now we sit down.........now we stand up.....now we sit and listen to speeches & it doesn't matter if we are interested or not get on my very last nerve.  I've avoided those situations most of my life.  If my wedding hadn't been right after Sunday evening services in a very small church where I had attended most of my life I probably would have missed it by standing outside by myself  :)  The 1st place I went as a married lady..........the car wash to wash all the writing off the car my childhood friends had put there!  Gary, my hubby, was already irked........He'd missed the opening day of dove season just to get married.  Poor fella....he never knew what hit him......a Jay Bird fell on 'em  :D

:) Made some progress Sunday on the storage situation.  Then the "early evening" rain decide to arrive in mid-afternoon.....still any forward movement on my goals is better than none. My mom had a bad morning,  I went down before 4am and put her paper in the door.  When I went back my Brother was there in case Mom was looking at a ER trip.  She got to feeling better so that was avoided

I cancelled the Safari going to the shop due to bad weather and I wanted it here in case of an emergency.  I know a lot of people don't drive or don't own vehicle's.   I've been driving since I was 16 and owned my 1st car.  I've decided that unless it's absolutely impossible I'll always have a vehicle that I can sleep in comfortably and live in or out of either by choice or necesstity.

Back to work on Tues. The weather forecast looks good for several days.   :D  Whoopee!!  I just told Q we are working tomorrow!!  She raised her head gave me "the look" and laid right back down!  Yeah.......wait 'til she wants to go outside again.  I'll jump right up and take her!!

I just called the shop and Squatty is going in early am on Wed. Lon said it could take 30min or 2 days to find the shorts.

I see nothin' but sunshine on your horizon, so 30 minutes, tops  ;)  (you'll need sunglasses it'll be so bright!)

Tuesday Q and I were at the storage units unti noon.  Loaded the Safari side to side & front seats to back seat with 2 layers of med. & lg. boxes, then plastic bags of soft things.  The rear seat had 2 folding tables, 2 folding wooden clothes racks and about 10 wall pictures.  We also had a big tote bag with everythin Q or I might need, and 2 soft sided ice chests.

When we got to the flea market all parking spaces were full and Only 2 customers in the place.  Went back 45min before closing........drove the van right up the wheelchair/scooter opening , made a sharp left turn and parked on the sidewalk away from the ramp and about 2 ft from the store.  A young lady that works there offered to help me unload when I asked to use their flatbed cart.  When she saw the van she said " you weren't kidding when you said it was full! "  The AC is messed up there, so after getting everything in the stall I lasted long enough to scrape off a sticky tag from a vase to retag it. By that time I had sweat in my eyes and on my rib cage.  I had worked all day, rode around with no AC,  ate Popeye's at a friends with no AC, played with Q & her brother outside, loaded & unloaded the van  AND NEVER BROKE A SWEAT!  I did say it was hot there didn't I?  The owner said I can bring a dan and extention cord.  Good thing I have about 60ft :D

Today the van is in the shop.  It's 3pm and they are waiting for a part for the rear door and the shorts aren't fixed.  I'm fixing to call now and remind Lon about the AC.

So far a EZ day for us, laundry, made homemade guacamole with lotsa sweet onion & freash maters, trips back and fourth to Mom's apt.  I will be so glad when all this xtra stuff is gone and the Aliner and Safari are ready to roll.  I realized a few days ago that just about everything that I like to do has been on the back burner for months.  I'm just so tired.

:) Some progress again.  New part for rear doors and they are locking/unlocking as they should.  The problem with AC was the  AC hose leaking the coolant was on the rear AC, new 1 is ordered.  Lon recharged it for the 3rd  time and said it will leak out in 2 or 3 days. I forget what it's called however a "box" for the lighting system is also ordered,  I think Lon called it a "wireing modual?'  I'm supposed to call on Friday to see if the parts are there.  Now I have to go on a search to find the 7pin outlet I bought to get the Aliner home from FL.  It was in the Safari, now I think it's in the Aliner.  I also need to pull off or measure the gaskets for the 2 roof vents in the Aliner.  They look like they've dried out, shrunk and are useless.  I think they are supposed to fit inside the little doors on the vents that crank up, if so " they ain't right! "

I've been too busy to go trolling for thrift store bargains.  However  there are 2 right by L & K where I get my auto repair work done.   I found 1 of the things I really do need...a folding metal top table that doesn't weigh a ton.  They had a Mackabee aluminum folding table with a "roll" top, in the carrying case with the tags still on it.  It was $15, I asked a guy if he could lower the price.  He said $14 & I told him ok I'd spend that $ there anyways.  We set it up and it seems real sturdy.  When he said it would hold about anything I told him " O.K. hop up there and do a little dance on it".  He cracked up said "do you want it?  where's that ticket? "   I got it for $12  Whoopee.  I've been googling and similar tables are $45 to $65.

I'm thinking about taking part of tomorrow off, however I need to go  tag items and set up my stall.  Can't make any $$$$ with no price tags!

the gaskets for the vents are most likely DIY, made out of butyl tape. the RV tape has about a 10 year life span, the marine tape has about a 20 year life span. highdesertranger

There is nothing wrong when asked to do more with saying I'd love to but I am swamped right now.

Jewelann, I am in about the same frame of mind. Some days great things happen, then while trying to figure out my next step I hit a brick wall. I bought a book trying to get a handle on solar so I don't have to bother JiminDenver with questions but the more I read the less clear it gets.

Stop by, I have today's cold pizza waiting for breakfast.

Eff 'em and feed 'em fishheads.

You've already started. It will get better , really !
I've only seen a couple of campgrounds that didn't have at least one showerhouse/bathroom or at least a pit toilet and a porta potty will be a great addition for those late night when it's pouring rain potty calls........

Maybe they could inspect an EMPTY climate controlled storage unit with kit and bath ?????

Whatta they gonna do? toss you out? then THEY get to clean up the mess
I've done that when evicted, just grabbed what I wanted and walked out, serves em right

 YEAH BUDDY  :D Today so far Q and I dug out more stuff in #45 to take to the F.M. stall.  She came home and I  picked up Mickey D's for a sick friend girl and then set up the stall.  Had my 1st sale $15 -15%.  my neighbor had almost the the same new light fixture...his was silver/3 lights,  mine was bronze 2 lights.  i was talking to this lady as we walked towards my stall,  when she looked at his i asked how much...$35.. I said well it is silver and 3 lights while mine is bronze and 2 lights for 15$.  I like selling things.  If you remember a air freshner called Dazey it was a plastic flower in a little plastic pot, you twisted the pot so some little openings  opened up for the fragrance to come out.  I SOLD ONE FOR 25c ONE TIME..WITH THE DEODERIZER ALL USED UP.  My hubby thought I was nuts when I put it in my yard sale  :)

Lunchtime here at mi casa...Wally world rotisserie chicken...yum   yum.  Q is waiting.

Game plan is load boxes of light weight stuf in van + clothes  and hope the apt passes.  I figured out that this is a extra inspection they are slipping in on us with 2 Public Housing employes...I'd bet the July one will happen with an independent inspector that reports to HUD and only 1 housing worker.

Early bd. time and wake up for work on sat. PHOOEY  I'd rather eat a worm :-/
