Hello, I just registered on this form this morning. I am planning a trip across across the country from Oregon to east coast sometime in the spring. Is is possible to find others traveling in that direction? This may be a silly question. I watch Bob’s videos all the time and I appreciate all the instructions and advice he  shares and also all the people who are willing to be interviewed. Thank you so much.

Welcome to the CRVL forums Painter! Many of us stay in the west for the entire year because it's easy to find public land to camp on and good weather by traveling north or up in elevation. However, there are forum members all across the country so if you post your general location when you stop for a few days or the route that you are planning on taking there may be members who would join you for a few nights of camping or a few days of traveling.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

I will do that. Thank you so much for your quick reply. That is very helpful.

Hi Painter, welcome!

Rvwandering is right that most CRVLers stay west, but there are some of us stuck out East that are always looking for an excuse to wander close to home.
Where in Oregon are you from? What kind of rig have you got? What are you looking forward to on your travels?

Oh, and depending on when you’re planning to go, there may be east coasters coming back from the RTR that you could travel with ...

Thank you Meira. I am an RN also, well I was. I am retired now.I have not set a date yet. Thank you for your reply.

I live about an hour and a half south of Portland and have a Dodge Grand Caravan which is not set up yet. My husband and I want to visit our son in Maine where we are from. I watch Bob's video every night. What a nice gentleman he is.

Isn't funny that those on the west want to go east and those in the east want to go west. :) I live in Nebraska so going any direction is about the same amount of travel time. I want to go to Oregon some day as well as Maine. Each state seems to offer something to see.

Tony, they are both beautiful states and I do miss Maine. Oregon has a milder climate but it does rain a lot It also is a more friendly place. Thank you for your note. Maybe sometime you may travel to one or both.

Welcome! I'll be traveling West to East at some point, but much further south than your locations. Have a great adventure and welcome to the forums :)

I've been wanting to travel south then east but since I started vandwelling in July all I've done is travel between North Idaho and the CA/OR border area a few times. I might as well not make plans. I don't know what comes next.

You must dream and plan your future. If you don't, all you will see is what happens by fate. I have many plans but not sure how to make the plans workout, but that does not stop me from planning. Sometimes the plan itself can be a pleasure....anticipating what could be.

I will be heading back East to Maine from Colorado sometime early to mid spring.  Definitely gonna take a more scenic route than just following I-90 the whole way :)
