It didn't take me long to realize I'm miserable in my van.  I need to be able to stand up.  I have a few medical issues that have gotten worse since coming down here.
Restoring takes a lot of space, money, time and physical endurance.
We're going to buy an enclosed cargo and make it our own.  I posted about doing it quick and how we will accomplish that.
Nomadic Fanatic gave me the idea from watching his video about doing a color wrap on the outside.  Maybe you could toy with that ides.
I belonged to Sisters on The Fly and can tell you they are experienced at restoring old trailers.  I replaced a floor on a folding chalet due to floor rot.  My Class B I've done tons of stuff including painting and tearing up the old dirty carpet and replacing it.
Just wanted to mention what is ahead of you and your possible project.  If you hurt yourself driving won't be fun.

good for you I hope it goes well.  say hi to Alex for me.  highdesertranger

Will do!  My knee started giving me issues so I didn't go to look at the first one but since Apache Junction was "sort of" on the way for Alex we came out here.  It's a bust!  There used to be several tin can crap dealers out here and there's only one left and he knows it too!

We're going to check out some touristy mining things out here then head in opposite directions.  Camping in the foothills of the Superstitions is beautiful at least!

You forgot about patience.  I used to restore old cars and I already drive in pain.  I'll also be living in it so frustration and lack of space will also be on the menu.

Patience, yes.  Gotta have a love for the project to carry on sometimes.

I am unafraid Jim.  I used to restore old cars with 64 Impalas being my fave at the time.  Hell, some of the crap on my van isn't made anymore!

The more I read about those Holiday Ramblers the more I like them!  Tanks!

Curious if you have a tank to haul them with?  At the very least, take it to a scale before you buy and not after.

I know about towing capacity and such. I used to haul much heavier weights. The only requirement is common sense.

After talking with Bob a trailer is off the table at least for now. Our discussion reminded me why I wanted to camp in a van in the first place.
