The continuing saga of my trailer getting repaired.

The dent is fixed, I haven't seen it but one of our members has and said it looked good.

The member went by the shop this morning and my trailer has either been stolen or is in the shop for the other things I wanted done. Either way is fine, I got stinking insurance.

My April launch date got delayed just a bit. All good things come to those that wait. And wait. And wait.

Patience is a virtue they tell me, I am not a virtuous man I guess.

Rob, it's finally moving forward! I hope you're able to get out of there ASAP.

They have started working on it . Awesome news! :D
You've sure had plenty of time to make a plan for your first trip though.
Which way are ya goin'? It's a good time of year to be travelin'... ;)
Don't forget , we're all just a post (or phone call) away if you need anything as always.

I've got to get it weighed and registered, a small matter I had forgotten about. The temporary tag was good for a week. Then my first trip will be to Vincennes Indiana for a few days.

Under 2500 lbs no vehicle inspection, over a big pain in the neck.

Sounds good Rob! Things are starting to come together. :)

I called the tax collectors office today and I will have to pay a $25.00 a month penalty for not getting it registered within 30 days. The clerk I spoke to today said to bring pictures and speak to a supervisor and maybe get a break but her words were " Don't count on it".

Nobodies fault but mine, but the phrase "it's only money" is getting a bit old.

And its 4000 lbs before you need an inspection.

how long do you have to make these 25 buck payments for? I would just go register it in Arizona. they don't care where you are a resident of. highdesertranger

Wouldn't you need to have an address there somewhere? Where will they send next years renewal papers?

Rob

The dent in the truck and trailer are repaired so the whole I-8 incident is just a distant memory that you can chuckle about when you tell your grandkids.

Arizona doesn't care where your residency is just give them an address where to mail your renewal to. it could be California, Texas, New York, Canada or wherever. highdesertranger

Delinquent transfer penalty. When I took paperwork in to get transfer on my van the clerk noticed the sale date which was several months earlier. Said there would be a penalty. Then got out my receipt from auction company that I had made a copy of. It was only several days from paying for it, going after it, and show up in tax collectors office. Purchasing/sales agent for the city had entered the wrong date. I didn't catch that but had proof of purchase date anyway.
Seems like there would be a maximum number of months to pay that penalty but state says EACH 30 days or part of a 30 day period. Geez....

Sad thing is I can't blame anyone but myself. Just never occurred to me until I downloaded the paperwork. Live and learn.

Yeah even the fines are bigger in TX.  Here in AL if you buy a vehicle and the Tags are out of date you have to pay the back taxes for each mo. since the tags ran out.....Not the DA who didn't tag it.  Not the dealership who sold it to you.  Of course you don't have to Register your vehicle.....just don't pay the back taxes and then you can't.  At least that's how it works down here Boiled Peanutsville.  I ain't tellin' how I know this :D
