Heres a list of Mods Ive done over the last 3 years!

Electrical system: On the pop top is mounted a 210 watt solar panel, that runs through a morningstar solar controller and eventually into a 250 amp hr agm battery. From the battery I have a 800 watt inverter that powers all the entertainment devices looking back I could have gotten away with an inverter about half the size. Also from the battery I have my water pump, refrigerator, and duel cigarette lighter(12 volt) connection, these item are always.. Then for the cloudy days just a small generator that plugs into a smart converter, which charges the battery while powering other devices.

Entertainment: 23 inch flat screen TV, Ps2, Netflix, Laptop, High speed internet, and most days you can just rely on your neighbors for good entertainment . I use my phone to connect to the internet )for when I am way out in the boonies I have a wilson 3g amplifier, and I also have a yagi atenna as well that will pick up internet at pretty good distance provided you have clear line of site. Netflix is run on a app on my phone which has a great compression rate, then is hooked up to the flat screen via a MHL HDMI adapter cable for big screen pleasure. The TV is mounted on a arm that swivels out the barn doors for outdoor movie night, and last but not least my mp3 player that plugs into a pair of bose indoor outdoor speakers that I got for free.

Kitchen: For cooking I have a coleman stove top, that converts to a grill top, skillet and crock pot which I use to cook large portions of food, then for reheating purposes I use a torch, alcohol stove (very efficient) or my favorite the open fire. Refrigerator is an ARB which was pricey, but its very efficient and beats the HECK outta getting ice all the time. Then there is the Kitchen sink, don't really have one but a bucket works quite well the faucet is just an ordinary outdoor spicket with a brita filter attached for drinking water. The water is supplied from a 40 gallon tank mounted under a queen size bed(well almost).

Heating and Air conditioning: Elevation and my portable buddy heater.

Bathroom: For showers I have an outdoor shower stall and solar water bag about $40 for both at wally world. When I am unable to set them up...... a spray painted black jug set in the sun and a bucket work nicely. Then theres the porta potty, think thats all we need to say! I also have a little pump action spray bottle used for brushing my teeth, shaving, and dishes.

My latest mod which I built today.

A ramp for the aging Navigator carpet will be coming soon

Sounds like an extremely nice setup.

Looks like the Navigator appreciates the ramp, too.

COOL van HoboBerg. I'll bet the poptop is great when you are out in rural areas, but I'll also bet you keep it down while in the city for reasons of stealth.
-Bruce

Thanks Bruce. Yeah you cant event till its a pop top when its down. I have never stealth camped yet. If I am in a city I usually find a Casino down here in Southern AZ, they are friendly.

Never had to stealth camp? Must be nice.
I just had a look at your blog. The van seems to be set up real nice and functional. What type of fridge do you run, and how many hours is it on? I like the plumbing for the water too.
-Bruce

Beautiful setup! I'd love to know more about how you have the van setup. The pics on your blog are really great. How about the 40 gal tank? Where do you have that placed? You've got so much room in your van. Mine's a shorty, and I'm trying to see how other folks have theirs setup. I really like yours.

Besides, Mooch my social secretary has fallen in love with your navigator. I think it's the eyes.

Hey Bruce! Thanks! The Van is very functional wasn't the first year I had it, but I took care of that with a sledge hammer. The fridge is branded as a ARB 50 quart , I believe its manufactured by someone else for ARB not sure of the companies name though, as far as quality goes its very good, it can be used as a freezer as well. I have had it for 1 yr and 8 months now been running non-stop not sure how many hours that is though? Any other questions feel free to ask

Thanks Angeli! The 40 gallon tank is mounted between the rear wheel wells, which is under the bed between the garage, and kitchen Ill get some pics of the water tank for you. So much room? Funny how my perception changed 3 years ago when I owned a house in surburbia I never thought someone would think a 19ft van has so much space lol, its all good though. Did I miss a thread on here? Who's Mooch?

Lol I showed her Mooches pic, and ears perked up a bit

They could groan in stereo. Mooch is @ 12 now. Still a pretty good social secretary, and sweet as can be.

Nice rig hoboBerg. Looks as though a lot of folks here could profit by studying what you've done.

Very impressive solar system you have there!

Just read on your blog about Candy's medical emergency. So sorry to hear it. Hope she makes a complete recovery and can return to full navigator duties. :)
