Thanks Zonie!!

I recognize more than a couple of those vans. And I still would love to be able to have my 61 Ford Econoline back again...well maybe not.... :D

I wonder how many of us here are Vanners from the 70's!

My Dad got his first van new, a 1975 Ford E150, first year for the Gen Three long nose van. It was a short wheelbase cargo van.
Then he traded it on a new 1986 E150 Standard Length cargo van, which I have now.
I grew up driving both vans.
A school friend's parents got the first Factory Custom Conversion Van I ever saw, back in the early '70s, in my high school daze. I recall it being a Ford Gen Two, short nose van.
A math teacher had a nifty VW Westfalia camper van, and we all envied her.

Lets see if I can remember, living in SoCal early 70's with a 67 Dodge van, cute little blonde in a bikini riding shotgun , going to Seal Beach times were good. I remember in high school we would have to pool are money to get to are designation. Some times it took a length of garden hose to get there and back. Most of the time my girlfriend sat on the motor between the front seats.

I had a 1972 blue Chevy camper van with a pop top, an excellent road trip machine, took it to California, Florida, NM, AZ, Smoky Mountains and all around the beaches of Lake Michigan. I wish I still had it. I got if from my grandfather, who got it when he retired as a master machinist from GM.

Grew up in a VW mini bus, camped all over Europe in it from 1969-1973, we brought it back to the states and I learned to drive in it. My first van was a 1977 dodge tradesman van, green shag carpet and tinted porthole window, I was too broke to finish it out but a couple of lawn chairs and an old mattress and I was stylin'!!
