if you guess world famous Mono Lake you are correct.


this is the Mono Lake overlook on US 395.  t[font=Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif]he reason I included this pic is look at the guard rail.  people have put stickers all over it.  behind that there are a few information Kiosks one of them has so many stickers on it you can't even read it I should have taken pictures.  I really really hate this just like graffiti it's vandalism pure and simple.  a lot of those stickers are You Tubers.  I  need to figure out how to comment on you tube videos.  I would leave them some choice remarks.[/font]

the scale of this stuff is truly amazing.  how big do you think this wheel is?

sorry we did not go in the ghost town proper they want 8 bucks to get in now.  I have been in the town like 50 times the last time I was here it was like 2 bucks.  when I first started coming here in the 60's it was free and remained so until the 80's if I remember right.  California is getting out of control with their fees.

now we are up in eastern Oregon,


an old powerhouse from the turn of last century(1900).  it's really a beautifully constructed building.  the picture doesn't do it justice.


look at this a wooden pipe.  this is how they got water to the powerhouse,  miles of wooden pipe.  simply amazing.


and here are the houses the people who operated the powerhouse lived in.  actually they let people rent these houses short term(vacation) today.

HDR...........We're in Q at LTVA South......All's good........I thought I saw YOU at the LTVA water/fill yesterday ?????

yep those white streaks are snow on June 14,  2020.  elevation approx. 6k


brrrrr


still snowing, we are out of here.  we quickly dropped down to 4500ft.  only rain down there.

Hey Doug basically I am in Southern California unfortunately I am working. need to make some money and buy more parts for the trailer.

I will be out that way towards the end of January when Timmy comes from Detroit. I will give you a heads up when I am down there.

I will be in Mohave Valley between Christmas and New Year working on my trailer and Chevy. I have the flooring, 120 volt wiring, battery charger, and water heater for the trailer.

sure wish I was rich and didn't have to work as there is zero things positive to say about SoCal other than a paycheck.

Osprey,  they have these nesting boxes all around the lake and the Osprey have moved right in.


she/he is looking right at me


this nest is quite extensive it's been used for many years.  but wait for the next set of pics


I can't believe this.  yes it's raining AGAIN


it's rained at least once a week some times twice a week for that last 2 months.  I know some of you say no big deal but for the High desert this has been a very wet spring.

I couldn't really tell by looking though the view finder but I knew something was going on.

in this pic you can see he/she has a piece of red meat in their beak


they are feeding a chick.  if you look close you can see the chick behind the sticks.
