Hi my name is Cherel.  This is the first site I discovered when I began my search for an alternative lifestyle in the desert SW.  Of course, this led me to various YouTube channels.  After several months of happenstance perusing I finally decided it was time to join this forum.  I have no qualms or fear of the nomadic lifestyle as I was a vagabond through my 20's and 30's.  However, now that I am in my late 60's I am a victim of my misspent youth and am living on social security without a backup. :s

My long term goal is to be comfortable in an arid climate with spectacular views of the cosmos.  My path is spiritual as I have been chasing the answers to existence for the majority of my life.

Although I have no immediate plans, I am looking for the path of least resistance to spend my remaining years without drama.  I believe this forum will be here for me in the best possible way as I contemplate life... :p

Welcome to the CRVL forums Cherelann! I split off your first post so that you have your own introduction/welcome thread.

To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips & Tricks" post lists some helpful information to get you started. We look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Cherelann, I'm Jesi James, I just joined. I've been looking this site over and thought I'd already joined. I feel so at home here. I plan to retire this summer. Hoping to find a camper van and just get away from the stress. :)

Jesi go to the "Newcomers corner" and give us an intro, we will give you an official welcome. highdesertranger

It sounds like being a nomad is the perfect thing for you. I'd suggest Arizona as a base I think it has everything you could possibly want and you can live really cheap. See you out there
