The one I linked to is the 4g model. A few years ago I had bought the 3g model and when 4g became common I upgraded.

Sue has a jetpack with a antenna jack so she can use the antenna alone. There are very few of them around with antenna jacks and the Sleek allows you to use any device, including your cell phone. Plus it boosts the signal. To me that's worth $115 but it may not be to everybody.

This is the one I was referring to Bob. Not sure what the difference is between the 2 then, besides rebranded name and price. I'll have to dive into the specs more closely.

The money is worth it to me to pick up a weak signal. My concern is although I rarely talk on my phone, I text a lot & use my phone for internet access so not being able to get within 8" of it is problematic.

My initial thought right now is to use a jetpack in the amplifier. Then I can use my phone or my Chromebook but I need to do more research before I buy anything.

I suspect they are the exact same thing the only difference is the name and so the difference in price. But that's speculation

You can put your cell phone in the cradle, you just have to use bluetooth to keep away from it for voice use. Maybe a bletooth keyboard for text? For a brief call you could even hold it up to your head.

That's how I use my jeptpack, it lives in the cradle and my laptop does the work.

Great idea about the Bluetooth keyboard! Thanks. Something I'll keep in mind.
