Hello -

I am planning on traveling to this years RTR, my first.  On the way, I would like to look into having solar panels installed on a 1998 Roadtrek. It looks like somewhere between 200watts and 300watts is the prefect set-up.  So, here are my questions: Should I wait to get feedback at the RTR before installing solar?  Is there an excellent solar installer in Arizona I should look into for installation?  Thank you in advance for any thoughts you might have.

Discount Solar is ok if you need a part or two but are expensive if you want panels or installation. highdesertranger

If you can wait, the RTR would be a great opportunity to see how folks are choosing, mounting, and using their solar configs.  Doesn't mean you have to do it that way but there can be wisdom in crowds.

You might want to bring a selfie stick or similar.  That way if someone is giving a tour of their rig you can see the roof layout without dragging around a ladder.  :)  A notebook might also help.

Buddy's rv in flaggstaff and D&R family solar in Phoenix. Worked with both, both are reasonable price-wise and knowledgeable. I would recommend making an appointment a couple of weeks in advance as they stay busy.

Thank you for the insights. I've learned that Wind & Sun in Flagstaff does not do installations. They refer that work to Buddy's Welding & RV.

I will be in the area doing installations.

PM me

John.
