Hey all!
My van has a lot of spaces between the outer panels and metal "shell" that's inside. I've seen people stuff insulation in there, but I've also heard that those dead air pockets are great insulation.

Anyone have some experience with this?

hi

I decided to seal off with heavy tape

I left the cavity clear

there are drain holes at bottom pinch weld to drain condensation

blkjak

Thanks for the reply!

On the back doors I was just packing solid insulation into all my nooks and crannies, and turning it into one big insulated gob with spray foam, but I ended up buying some pink panther insulation that I've been filling the walls with now (being careful not to compress it too much). It's coming along pretty well so far.

Don't confuse dead air space with insulation. Heat transfers inside dead air space via convection currents. Insulation keeps that from happening.
