Anyone apply right before the deadline in August but haven't received a pass yet?

I mailed a paper app on Aug.22 and I'm still waiting.

Google 'National Forest Supervisor's Office / Your State', note the phone number, and ask. Maybe they can kick it back faster.

I took a VA decision to a guy sitting at interpretive center desk.
He didn't even look at it, and handed me an access pass!!
Senior pass similar to Access?

Yes but where I'm at they were all out of passes.

The Access Pass is for individuals who are disabled. And you don't need to get a Senior pass if you have an Access pass already.  Luckily many more locations can give out the Access Passes.    Only places that charge an entrance fee can process the Senior Pass.  Due to huge amount of people who applied for the Senior Pass (because the price was going up A LOT) there are many still waiting to receive theirs.
My spouse applied on line for the Senior Pass one hour before the cut off for the higher price, and it arrived about 1 1/2-2 weeks ago.   Since you mailed in your application I suspect that held it up even longer.  Contact them if you haven't had verification they received it, did they cash your payment? If so you know they got it and it should be coming.
My Access Pass didn't come with the hang tag holder like spouse's senior pass did.  Does anyone know if I should have gotten a hanger with the acess pass?

my access pass doesn't have a holder...have had mine for six years now...while I was camped at a Corp of Engineers Park this past spring the
kind folks at the gatehouse gave me one to use. when I got ready to leave and turn the site pass in they said I could keep the holder...first time in six years that I needed to display my pass in any campground of which there have been many for me...

Any of the National Parks that charge a parking fee with attendant on duty should be able to give you the hanger.

I had to specifically ask for mine when I bought my annual pass.

If you also ride a motorcycle you can also get a sticker for on it but again, you have to ask.

I loved confusing the Cdn National Parks staff with my US pass hanger this past summer. I had my Cdn pass stuck in the hanger cause Canada doesn't have their own hangers.... :D

I've been checking my CC statements and no charge for it yet. I first got an Access pass 10 years ago but I managed to misplace it. Need to get busy and call them tomorrow.

While the access pass was originally only for handicapped, they have been giving them to veterans as well for several years now. Access and senior passes have same benefits.

Thanks Bonnie, my access pass was about 12-15 years old, and was paper, it was so worn out when I took spouse to get their senior pass I got a replacement.  Since I had my original one I didn't have to submit all the verification paper work.  They gave me the new hard plastic type but no holder for it. Never had to display it when camping years ago.  Hadn't used it in a number of years.  Next time I go someplace that I have to use it I will ask for a hanger.

I sent off for mine on May 29th and got it the last of September.

Waiting through the prime camping months. Oh boy.

I was given a plastic hanger when I got my access pass about 2 years ago. I suspect you can go by any US Forest Service office and pick one up when they are in stock. Winter months would probably increase likely hood.

When I got my senior pass they asked me if I wanted the holder/hanger thing.
You can probably go to the visitor center at the first place you use the pass and ask for one then....
Scotch tape your pass to the windshield would probably work just as well if that location is out of them. ;)

Given the current administration's attitude about public lands, I imagine the issuing agency is understaffed and backlogged with pass orders.
