Seattle has overpriced vans - but this one looks pretty cool.

Any tips on looking more seriously at this?

Going to take a second look at this van. It's been at the lot a while.
I drove it once. Drives fine. No leaks. Didn't see any rust. Dealer is quoting me $4500 cash price. Any tips on what to look for?

Seattle market is really high priced. Everything seems 20% high... but we don't salt the roads so no rust usually. I don't know much about its history except that it's really clean.

The fold down bed seems way small. I would have to build it out and extend it OR pull it out and start over? That could be a lot of work for a newbie.

Not sure if I would need to pull the captains chairs. Lots to ponder.

Wish I had more options in the NW but most vans here are either way too high priced or total POS that need massive care.

Thanks for any tips or ideas guys!!!!!!

Another one that won't show the side door!

It looks good, but if you're not a mechanic, you'd best get it checked by one.

The asking price often isn't the selling price. They can ASK anything they want. Make an offer if it checks out okay. Do they have a CarFax report on it?

Looks like something you could work with and make into something to suit your needs. You could probably manage to live in it and make small concessions to toiletry and such.

Worth a look IMHO. Rob

Each of us has different needs, but as I am tall, I would absolutely remove the middle and rear seats, and put in a decently long bed lengthwise.

The one problem with paying for one of the vans that has been converted is that inherent in that higher price tag is all the fancy finishing, the convertible rear seat and 2 extra captains chairs.

The first thing that most people do is take it all apart...

That rear 'sofa bed' goes first because after sleeping on it for a few nights (or less), you realize that it's not comfortable as a bed and you're extremely limited in what you can stash under it.

Then the two extra captains chairs come out because you don't need the extra seating and you do need the room for all the camping stuff you want to have with you.

And you look around and figure out that that fancy wall finishing is costing you about 5 inches on each side that you could gain by not having it there.

See where I'm going with this.

Unless you're in a big hurry to buy or want something that is already finished for you, you might want to be patient and keep looking until you find a cargo/passenger van that you can start from scratch with.

This is all excellent advice. Thank you!!!!
