There’s a lot of reading of this thread going on, and precious few actual experiences reported of problems encountered with our national park rangers.

I’ve never had any in 17 years of RV’ng, but I do think the increase in van/vehicle dwelling is going to create crackdowns on public lands where much previously slipped by relatively unnoticed.

As this movement is generating more issues in cities.

Extended stays are going to be noticed, people questioned, rules perhaps more stringently enforced.

I don’t plan on curtailing travel or my enjoyment of this country and it’s public lands, but will continue to be mindful of where I might light for a few days or more.

You can always move on from a setting where you don’t feel comfortable, for whatever reason, and I think it’s also important for each of us to hold ourselves personally responsible for not being the ones causing problems.
