I have looked on the social security page and their seems to be no way to go without a address, they say to always report a move and have an address. Paying for mail service is just another expense. What do others do?  :s

Thank you that says it all, Must have reliable address.

An address is needed for far more than SSDI, you'll need one for drivers' license, insurance, banking etc.

Some use a relative or friends' address, some use a professional address company. What is available depends on what state you want to use as your state of residence which gets picked by the type of lifestyle you want pr have to have. Those that are tied to a certain state obviously have less choice than those that can pick and choose.

Those that can pick and choose, usually pick a state that has no income tax, has easier domicile regulations for titling vehicles and getting a drivers' license. Health insurance also has to be figured in to the mix as well.

Yes, thank you so much. My son and I are in Texas have license and a current address that we are selling I have a friend that said I can use his address but I like to be independent and didn't want to impose. I am guessing that i should take him up on the generous offer.

Take him up on the offer and then set as much up as possible so that you don't feel like you're imposing on him.

I'm having to use a friends' address once I move in 2 months. I'm setting up all my bills so that I get them online. And of course, there will be a whole lot fewer bills.... :D .

There's a few items that I will still receive paper for so she'll scan them in on the printer/scanner I'm giving her when I move. She can email them to me, I'll print a copy at my end and then I can deal with it. But that's temporary stuff until I can close up some tax paperwork from running my own business.

The only things she'll have to actually mail me are some of my income tax paperwork but that's a once a year type thing.

I'm fortunate that my birthday falls during the time I'll be in the area anyways so I can renew my tags.

Here, I'm having to use the post office box (no home delivery) for mail delivery so they will have a 'no flyer' notice on my mail box so there will be almost nothing for her to have to empty from it.

Maybe there's something you can do for him at some point during the year that will make it feel more like a two way street rather than feeling dependent on him for your mail.

You simply can't function in his country without both a mailing and residence address. Having family to do it for you is ideal, except of course, it's family, which often adds all kinds of problems on it's own.

Your so right Bob, I wish we could just disappear, but a lot of reason for me to do this is so when im gone my son will no how to survive on his income. Im really the last of family for him. If youve never herd of aspburgers well my son is a cross between monk and sheldon on the Big Bang Theory show. Wich means the clean thing will be fun. I read him a post in how to keep clean where a guy said he sits in his 5 gal bucket, You should of seen the look on his face. But he held strong trying to keep me appeased. I pray he makes good friends out their and as of know I am not going anywhere!! :D
