We came back home for a few days to rest up from our travels.Decided to go to see the Ar State Red Wolves play on Sept 1.We were planing on taking the camper and stay a couple of days, but when we totaled it up we saved money by driving the car and staying in a Super 8.Will also have wifi and cable tv.We decided to give the camper a few days off.

Re the original topic of this thread ....

Anymore RV parks cost $30-50/night minimum. So $900-1500/month.
Natl Forest CGs are typically $10-20/night now. So $300-600/month (although seniors get 50% Discount).
State Parks in CA and OR are around $35/night with reservations required months ahead. So $1000/month.
County Parks around $15-20/night. So, $450-600/month.

I imagine there are still many "small" towns in the west and midwest (not cities nor in California) where one could rent an apartment for those rates.

So true regarding apartment rates. I'm not really saving much by letting go of my place at 600/mo plus utilities. But I'm doing it anyway.
