Greetings,
My wife and I go on ~week long~ adventures in the Pacific Northwest. We usually have a river to camp by as Cari loves to gold pan. For the first few seasons i enjoyed reading a good book beside her or taking photographs. Then i was doodling about the internet and something caught my eye that looked like a whole lotta fun!

1/24th scale radio controlled rock crawlers...The models we chose easily fit two inside a day pack (about 12" long). We have about a half dozen battery packs that are easily recharged via solar or back at camp. I can go all afternoon crawling around on the rocks while she pans up some glitter from the river. It is a total blast. The fastest these go is about walking pace and can climb the craziest things!

She had fun fixing up her pink zebra stripe rig, while mine is clad in a Monster Drink recycled can.

For those interested in researching the hobby, check out RCCrawler.com an informative group with links to hobby resources.

Cheers,
Thom
