In my continual search for my Class B I have come across a 2002 PleasureWay WB with a Ford Triton V8 engine.

It is pricey and the mileage is I think below average for the year (112,000).

It has everything I want and is already equipped with solar (300 watts) w/a 600 Pure Sine Wave Inverter, plus a generator.

I will have to make a day’s drive to see it, but I sure am considering it.

Any feedback about the engine?  I am woefully ignorant of engines and which ones to avoid.

The process of looking for and finding the right rig is quite time consuming!

Thanks in advance,
Deb

Is this a problem that could have been fixed?  If so, how would I know?  Or is the consensus just to stay away from anything with that type of engine?

Thanks for your help!

On some of those fords we had to actually break the spark plugs to get them out. Then we had all kinds of troubles, I forget what year models were effected. You can google ford 5.4 problems and find out all about that engine . Good luck

yes it can be fixed. I would ask for receipts. to tell you the truth I would stay away from the engine. IMO most places cut corners on the fix and do it with the heads on the vehicle even the dealers, I am not a fan of this. the proper way to fix this is to remove both heads and either replace them or install the inserts while the heads are off. highdesertranger

There supposed to put inserts in when they do the plugs to fix the problem , that’s costly . But it can be fixed as highdesertranger says. Plus the platinum plugs are rated for 100k miles but go farther . If you get it get ready to drop about a grand when you do plugs
