Propane refills

Hello all,

For my van setup, the best option I have to fit a propane tank inside is a 5 lb propane tank. Where can I go that refills propane by the gallon? Everywhere I see only deals in 20lb tanks which are to big to fit inside.

yeah the 20lb(5gal) tanks are cheap because it's the most common size and most produced size. besides the 1 gallon they also make a 2.5 gallon. highdesertranger

ALMOST Any ACE hardware store fills a small tank............

Out West all the propane dealers post the price per GALLON and fill any size tank.................

I have a couple 1 gallon tanks .....The Manchester tank (only) is about $55........the cool-looking Worthington is $70 !!!!!

Here in NW Florida some of the U-Haul places have propane by the pound/gallon.

The fitting on the smaller tanks is the same as the fitting on the large tanks. So anyplace that refills the large ones can refill the smaller ones.
