It is a shame that our society/culture/world has come down to this type of "Road Warrior/Mad Max" way. Things I have learned in life about pulling a trailer.

1) Always have spare bearings and grease. (45 minute road side repair, where you going anyway)
2) Always have two spare tires, fix a flat, a rachet strap if spare tire is flat to aid in inflating and a pump. (The rachet strap helps bead the tire to the rim.)
3) Never have anything shiny. It make for a diamond/gold look and someone will steal it. (I had brand new buddy bearings stolen, less than 3 days old)
4) Always carry a cable or chain and lock. (You can wrap the trailer/tire and rim around itself to lock up)
5) Carry a spare set of lights, bolts for fenders and license plates, etc...
6) A jack, jack stands and chuck blocks. ( I use a chunk of 6x6 long enough to be used as a jack stand/chuck block and many other uses).

All these items less the tires should be and can be store in a small metal tool box and have many other uses. I am a tool heavy carrier, it is in my nature. I also carry a rope and 2 ton rachet winch. Yes, I have used them while towing and they didn't take up that much space and nothing else could of been used at the time.

As for the story, I would hunt them life thieves down like William Money in the "Unforgiven".
